Overview Jomsom trek will covers all trekking places inside Annapurna areas including trek to base camp of ABC and fishtail base camp, trek back to Chhomrong and trek to famous short trek Ghorepani- Poonhill trek, trek down to Tatopani (Natural hot spring) and trek climb up to Marpha, Jomsom, Kagbeni (gateway for famous Mustang trek) and Finally reach to One of Famous temple for Hindus and Buddhist pilgrimage at Muktinath. From here it is downhill to Jomsom village, on the Tibetan Plateau where you can look around at the gateway to the "Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang", and get a glimpse of the ancient traditions still in practice. A flight the following day will bring you back to Pokhara while you enjoy a last look at the beautiful Himalayan Mountains If you did Annapurna circuit trek from different site, you will meet at Muktinath after one of best trekking pass- Throng la pass (5416m). This trek covers wide areas of Annapurna which guarantee to show real experience of trekking in Annapurna region. If you have about 3 weeks for Annapurna trek, this is best option to do trekking in Annapurna region. Jomsom Trek Itinerary is well designed in order to have better acclimatization from high altitude sickness; however you do trek up to 4,130m high at Annapurna base camp. If you are physically fit to walk about 4-7 hours in day, anyone can do this trek without any problem. Itinerary Details Day 01 : Kathmandu (1300M/ 4265ft) At Kathmandu international Airport, After Visa formalities complete, we have to come downstairs to collect Luggage and proceed to outside from terminal Building. Please check our Company Name board, Our Guide will be waiting with Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expeditions display board at the arrival gate. Upon our arrival at Kathmandu international airport, we will be warmly welcome by our Airport representative guide with Silk scarves as per Sherpa customs. You will be transfer to hotel by Private Vehicle. Check in at Hotel, free welcome drinks tea/coffee or any cold drinks/juices. Company Manager will meet you as per your prefer time & will provide detailed Plans and Briefing about the trip. At the Evening we will offer you welcome dinner at best authentic Nepali restaurant where you can enjoy the best Nepali food and cultural show. Dinner included overnight stay at best hotel in the Kathmandu. Day 02 : Kathmandu-Pokhara (823M/ 2700ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~1565ft After Breakfast your day will start for sightseeing tour of 4 Popular UNESCO Heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley. Our first destination is Swoyambhunath. This place offers a majestic view of the entire Kathmandu valley. Stupa of Swoyambhunath epitomizes Buddhism. Your guide will
enlighten you with detailed historical and cultural information about the place. After this you will visit Living goddess home and Kathmandu Durbar square. Locally this, Old royal palace area is called Basantapur Area or Hanuman dhoka Durbar Square. Our next sightseeing will be at Boudha nath (the biggest & Largest Buddhist Stupa in the World). In this Area, you will visit Buddhist Monastery and stop for lunch Break. If weather is clear you can see nearest Mountain of Kathmandu- Ganesh Himal from top of Restaurant. After Lunch, we will visit Hindus temple Pasupatinath and tour for today is finished. It normally takes 5-6 hours tour to visit all these 4 monuments within Kathmandu city. Drive to domestic Airport and Fly to Pokhara city (City with Lakes, caves, Mountains and Many more). After hotel checking, free at Evening. Day 03 : Pokhara- Phedi- Pothana/Deurali (1990M/ 6528ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~3828ft We drive to Phedi Starting at an elevation of 1130 meter, in a forest that is so overgrazed that it looks like a manicured municipal park we start climbing to Dhampus on the top of a ridge at 1700 meter. The route then enters a rhododendron forest and follows a trail paved with stones to the village of Pothana. From here, we have excellent views of Machhapuchare Mountain (6997m). Machha, meaning fish and puchhare meaning tail, except from this angle it looks more like the Matterhorn then resembling a fishtail. The trail climbs further on a stone paved route to Deorali atop a hill at 2150 meter. Day 04 : Pothana/Deurali- Jhinu Danda (1760M/ 5770ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~758ft We descend then into the canyon of Modi Khola down a rough stone trail to the teahouses at Bheri Kharka, a suburb of the large Gurung village of Bichok, which is far below. After climbing out of the valley following flagstone steps we arrive in the small settlement of Tolka at 1790 meter. Continue with your trekking for four hours until you reach picturesque Gurung settlement of Landrung. Spectacular views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli instill more zest and excitement into your adventure spirit. From Landrung, you march along the mountain path of stone steps, pass through a hamlet, cross a suspension bridge and then you come across dense forest of bamboo. Finding yourself in complete isolation amidst the serenity of nature can be quite an experience. Your trek does not stop here. After trekking for a while, you approach teahouses at Jhinu where you will make Overnight. First leave all things are room and than enjoy natural hotspring at Jhinu Danda. Day 05 : Jhinu Danda- Bamboo (2510M/ 8234ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~2464ft After breakfast, you resume your trek to the north, descending Daaulu and after having climbed up for one and half hour you will find yourself at Chomrong. From Chomrong you can have prominent and mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhare. There are many chalet-style wooden lodges and at Chomrong. From Chhomrong the trail descends until Chhomrong Khola, then the trail begins a slow climb as we head up to our first destination Sinuwa. We then proceed to Kuldi Ghar (2470m) about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs walking. The trek now enters the upper Modi
Khola valley. We can expect snow from here on in the winter months (Dec-Feb.) We continue our trek going down to Bamboo through an uninhabited forest area, scattered with big rocks. This is our camp for tonight. Day 06 : Bamboo- Deurali (3230M/ 10597ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~2363ft From Bamboo the road will take us through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Doban (2540m). After climbing 300 meters up we will first pas the Himalayan Hotel at 2840 meters. We then continue on to Hinko Cave (3100m) and then onto Deurali. During this day if we are lucky we can see interesting wildlife like deer, jackals and peacocks. Here we will also have great views of Machhapuchhare Mountain (6997m) and you will understand why the translation of its name means fishtail mountain. In Deurali we will stay overnight (5:30 hrs). Day 07 : Deurali- Annapurna Base Camp (4130M/ 13549ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~2952ft Today we climb on past the Machhapuchhare Base Camp (which isn't really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. This area is called the Annapurna Sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains. From here it is a two-hour trek to Annapurna Base camp, which offers spectacular views (5/hrs) Day 08 : Free Day/Rest Day At ABC In order to enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Annapurna base camp, this rest day will help much better. This east day also best for Acclimatization if necessary. Day 09 : Annapurna Base Camp- Dovan (2340M/ 7677ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~5872ft Explore the around of ABC- Annapurna base camp, take enough photos of Breath taking Annapurna south, Annapurna I, II, III & IV, Fihstail, Gangapurna and Many more mountains. If you are luckily reached at ABC in clear day, the views are awesome. Today we follow our way back to Deurali; it s easier as we descend the most part of our route (4hrs) Day 10 : Deurali- Chhomrong (2342M/ 7684ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~7ft After breakfast, we walk slowly all the way down following same way to Bamboo. From Bamboo, we climb Sinuwa through forest continue to Chhomrong. This is quite easy day, incase you need rest sometime at ABC or any place; we can cut this short day too. Day 11 : Chhomrong- Tadapani (2590M/ 8497ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~813ft Today route to Tadapani will
follow straight forward till a small village and then it ascends to tadapani via forests of redhodendron.it is about 5-6 hours trek. Day 12 : Tadapani- Ghorapani (3194M/ 10479ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~1982ft We start the day by descending to the Bhurungdi Khola river, followed by a steep rocky ascent to the village of Ban Thanti at 3180 meter. Afterwards we follow a stream, which offers good swimming opportunities in some of its pools. We descend through pine and rhododendron forests to the village of Ghorapani at 2750 meter and then we continue with a short walk to Deurali (meaning pass) at 2870 meter. From here we have a great panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m) (5 hrs). Day 13 : Ghorapani- Poon Hill (3210M/ 10531ft) - Tatopani (1190M/ 3904ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours Everyone rises early today to make the early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m) about an hour s climb from the pass. At sunrise, there is a spectacular unobstructed view of the high Himalaya. After returning to Deurali for breakfast we make a steep descend through rhododendron and magnolia forests, we pass some small villages and walk alongside the Ghaja Khola. In Tatopani (which means hot water in Nepali) there are natural hot water springs for your refreshment, be sure to bring a bathing costume. We stay overnight in Tatopani (7 hrs). Day 14 : Tatopani- Kalopani (2500M) Today we drive 2hours on the bumpy runway by jeep up to Kalopani (about 2,500 m). The place is surrounded by the deepest canyon in the world, directly between Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Annapurna I (8,091 m). In the afternoon, we can explore the surroundings. Lodge (B, L, D) valley, where much of the route is cut through solid rock. We will cross the river again on a 120m long bridge to the east side. We will continue on to Ghasa, an ethnic Thakali village and this marks the southern most limit of Tibetian Buddhism in the valley. We will stay overnight in one of the guesthouses here (6-7 hrs). Day 15 : Kalopani- Kagbeni (2800M/ 9186ft) Today we drive to Kagbeni by Jeep. The drive will be very interesting along the Kali Gandaki Valley with wonderful scenery. Overnight Lodge ( B, L,D) Day 16 : Kagbeni- Muktinath (3760M/ 12335ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours estimated height gain: ~3149ft Today we will do the 900 meter ascend to Muktinath which is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus and Buddhists. We will first walk through Khingar (3400m) and then onto Jharkot (3500m), which is an impressive fortress like village. We will continue our way to the first part of Muktinath
which is known as Ranipauwa, where we will stay the night. There will be time to explore the area and see some of the holy Hindu places like an eternal flame coming from natural gas next to a spring which is considered holy as well (4 hrs). Day 17 : Muktinath- Jomsom (2750M/ 9022ft) Estimated time: 5-6 hours For the way back to Jomosom we choose a different route. We cross this pass, which offers breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak. We come to the irrigated fields of the Panda Khola Lupra (2,800 m), one of the few villages that have preserved a Bon Monastery (Bon is the ancient religion of Tibet ) About the little -traveled path. We can also visit a cave, in which sometimes settle hermit. Then we descend into the main valley of the Gandaki and come to Jomosom (2,700 m). On our last night of the trek we celebrate farewell with our team. Walking time: about 5 hours. Lodge (BLD) Day 18 : Jomsom- Pokhara After breakfast, we will fly to Pokhara (One of best flight for real mountain scenery, just 20 min flight) then we will drive to Hotel in Pokhara by Taxi/Van or Private Vehicles. After sometime, Sightseeing tour of Devi s fall, Gupteshower Cave, Bats Cave, Mahendra cave, Seti River George, Bhidyabasini temple. This is about 3-4 hrs short tour in Pokhara city. Day 19 : Pokhara Morning we will drive to Sarankot hill tour for Sun rise views. Free day in Pokhara or optional hike to world peace Stupa about 3 hours (round trip) Day 20 : Pokhara- Kathmandu Fly to Kathamndu and Transfer to hotel. Free in afternoon for Last Minute shopping or remaining day for Relax at hotel. Day 21 : Departure Morning free for last Minute shopping or time as your own. Our driver and airport representative drive you to the airport in time for your flight back home. We ensure that you leave Kathmandu with cherishing memory and an experience of a lifetime.
