About the NAACP The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation s oldest civil rights organization. In existence for more than a century, the NAACP is responsible for a number of victories in the struggle for justice and equality in America. About the Convention The NAACP s annual convention is regarded as the event of the year for those engaged in civil rights advocacy and ensuring equality for all Americans.
