Kenya Kenya is a country in eastern Africa that borders the Indian Ocean, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. People have lived there for a very long time, but Kenya didn t become its own country until 1963. More than forty million people live in Kenya today including the Maasai people who have lived in Kenya since before Kenya s history was written down. A Maasai shield is a symbol on the country s flag. The people of Kenya speak many different languages including English and Swahili. The nation is a republic and is ruled by a president. Nairobi is the capital and also the country s largest city. The country is home to people from all over the world. Some work in the cities; some work in towns or on farms. Others come to study Kenya s incredible animals which include some of the most beautiful and dangerous in all the world.

I hope you ve enjoyed visiting four of the many places in Kenya! Before you leave to go home, could I ask you to do something special for the people here? Many people in Kenya believe in Jesus, but there are still people in Kenya who don t understand that Jesus loves them. There are also problems in the government that need to be solved. People who love Jesus need to work together to help the leaders make good decisions that help the people of Kenya Will you remember to pray for the people of Kenya? Here are a few things you can pray for. You can add more prayer requests to the list as you think of them! Pray that people will have Bibles to read in whatever language they speak. Pray that the people who don t have homes to live in will be safe.
