Passport applications via a German Honorary Consul in the United Kingdom Passport applications can also be filed at our Honorary Consuls offices in Aberdeen, Barrow upon Humber, Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Plymouth, Southampton and Newcastle. If you are a tourist in the UK and your German passport was lost or stolen, please contact the German Embassy in London or the Consulate General in Edinburgh. Please take note the following: 1. Applications with Honorary Consuls are possible by appointment only. You will have to arrange the appointment directly with the competent Honorary Consul in your area (Honorary consul s consular district: see contact details). 2. Please refer to the separate information sheets provided by the German Foreign Missions for information on the documents required for your passport application 3. Please note that the passport fees mentioned in the information sheets will have to be paid in form of postal orders. Due to a fluctuating exchange rate we ask that you kindly contact the honorary consul at least 24 hours before your appointment to obtain the correct fees and exchange rate. 4. For an application with an Honorary Consul you will also have to pay an additional fee of 60 EUR (in GBP) per person (also for children). The fee has to be paid in pounds and varies according to the exchange rate. Unlike the passport fees, the additional fee can paid in cash as well. 5. The Honorary Consul only accepts the application and then sends it on to the competent German Foreign Mission. The final decision on your application and if necessary - requests for further documents are made by the competent German Foreign Mission. 6. The Honorary Consul reserves the right to decide whether a passport application should be dealt with directly in London. Especially in difficult cases the Honorary Consul can refer any application for a passport to the German Embassy or the Consulate General.
