Itinerary Day to Day Day 1: Arrival Lima Arrival to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima. Here, you will be met by our representative, who will take you to your hotel. The journey from the airport to the hotel takes around 40 minutes. During the drive, your guide will provide you with information about your tour and answer any questions you may have. Later you will have the introductions to the surroundings of the most outstanding environment. Day 2: Lima 20 km The tour begins at Avenida José Larco, block 8 in Miraflores at 10:30 am. This tour offers you the possibility to visit the Plaza de Armas, the Changing of the Guard and interesting places such as Casa Aliaga (not included fee/only panoramic), and San Francisco church and its catacombs (fee included). In addition, you can have lunch in the center of Lima overlooking the Plaza de Armas from the balcony of a restaurant. Day 4: Lima to Cusco Inca walls, colorful costumes, churches built on top of palaces, citadels lost in the Andean heights, legendary roads, and all the beauty of a glorious past that enfolds the visitor who arrives in Cusco, the sacred city of the Incas and archaeological capital of the Americas. Ever since English archaeologist Hiram Bingham discovered the citadel of Machu Picchu for the world, Cusco has fired the imagination of thousands of travelers from all over the world who venture down the Inca Trail every year headed for the summit of one of the world's most extraordinary monuments. In the afternoon, introductions to surroundings of Cusco. Visiting the Main Square, known in Inca times as Hucaypata or The Warriors Square, this was the scene for many key events in Cusco s history. The Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664 with large stones of red granite taken from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The Koricancha Temple, the most important temple dedicated to the worship of the sun and whose walls were plated with gold sheets. The late afternoon and evening are yours to do with as you wish. Day 5: Cusco 4 hrs After picking you up, you travel on a tourist bus to the Tambomachay area, to start the tour, visiting the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman (Sacsayhuaman, Zone X and Tambomachay) but not in the conventional way, but by roads of Horseshoe that lead us to the same places, giving more excitement to the visit. The late afternoon and evening are yours to do with as you wish. Day 6: Cusco -Sacred Valley of the Incas Urubamba 3hrs You will enjoy for approximately 3 hours an exciting bike ride along the Sacred Valley on private services with English speaking guide following the route of the Urubamba River.
Day 7: Urubamba Maras y Moray -Ollantaytambo Aguas Calientes 7 hours In the morning, transfer to the train station and departure by Expedition train to Aguas Calientes town. After a 3 hour transfer to the town of Chequerec (Chinchero), where you will begin the route, with direction to the archaeological group of Moray on shared services with English speaking guide. You continue the activity by the horseshoe path that leads to the town of Maras, and we pedal down to the salinas of Maras (salt mines). Afterwards transfer to the train station in private transportation and departure to Aguas Calientes by Expedition class train. Arrival in Aguas Calientes. Day 8: Aguas Calientes Machupicchu - Cusco In the morning transfer to the train station and departure by Expedition train to Aguas Calientes town. After 3 hours arrival and continue by bus towards Machu Picchu. Today enjoy the visit to Machu Picchu with your private local guide (3 hour visit). Machu Picchu was discovered in 1911 by the explorer Hiram Bingham. This citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. Located in an enclave on the saddle of a mountain overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba River, in an area of lush tropical forest, it served as a place of worship, a site for star-gazing and a private hacienda of the family of the Inca Pachacutec. It consists of two main areas, one agricultural, formed mainly by mountains and food stores, and the other urban, which is noted for its sacred zone with its temples, squares and royal tombs. The stairways and canals carved out of stone are recurrent throughout this remarkable archaeological site. After the tour, aboard the shuttle but back to Aguas Calientes where you will board the Expedition train to Sacred Valley or Poroy station. Transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 9: Cusco Rainbow Mountain Cusco The Rainbow Mountain (the Vinicunca), is one of the majestic attractions in the route to Apu Ausangate. This tour begins at 3:30am in the morning when we will pick you up from your hotel and will head to the town of Pitumarca, south of Cusco. Shared services. We will make a short stop to stock up with necessary things you may need (water, snacks). Then we will continue our travel and en route we will see several Andean landscapes as we pass through the different Andean communities, and also will see llamas, vicuñas and alpacas. Soon we will arrive to the area of Ocefina, where we will start our hike to the Rainbow Mountain. This hike will take about 3.5 hours and will continue on a path that will give us views of slowly changing panorama of intense colors, impressive mountains capes as the Ausangate and the small cold water streams that feeds this valley. We will reach an altitude of 5033 msnm, the very top of Rainbow Mountain (the Vinicunca). Here we will have enough time to take pictures and videos and also enjoy our snacks. Once we have rest, we will begin our hike back to Ocefina, where we will have our box lunch and finally will return to Cusco approximately at 6:00 pm Day 10: Cusco Departure At established time, you will be transferred to the airport for you to board your flight from Cusco by your English speaking guide and private transportation (Flight not included).
