Eyelets and Eyenuts Standard, Thimble, Angle, Twin Eyelets The Smart bolt eyes are used in a variety of guying applications, as well as deadending. The slotted hole offers the installer the ability to insert the bolt from the eye side. Standard eyelets are used for deadending. Pins Saddle Wide Base Saddle Pin The clamp pins are manufactured with a forged pin body securely welded to a wide base saddle and supplied with a spiked bottom strap and two 5/8 x7 carriage bolt assemblies to prevent twisting or slipping when mounted. Clamp pins are installed to encircle the cross arm and the broad base distributes the load and eliminates the need for drilled cross arm holes. The sagger bracket shown in figure 2 can be used for both stringing and sagging the conductor. A cotter bolt threaded into the bottom of the bracket allows a special twist lock head to tighten into place at the top of the bracket. The secondary clevises shown in figures 3 and 4 are designed to handle high-strength on-line pulls or deadends. Spool insulators are sold separately.
