The bejewelled capital of Istanbul sits between two continents and is home to 450 mosques. The underground water once gave life to the ancient city of Hierapolis. Tourists and locals alike visit Pamukkale frequently not only for its extraordinary look and ancient history, but also for health reasons. Scientifically proven to cure many ailments, the waters attract many people all year round. You will walk barefoot up through the formations on the travertine path, starting at the south gate to the site.
