COMMENTS FROM THE MEMBERS: There was no need for formality at our joint dinner meeting as members from both clubs met up with old and new friends. Peter Gissing: We should do this more often. President Lauren Slater: Good to see everyone mingling and getting to know the other club s members. Jennifer Weale: If the noise is any indication, everyone s had a good night. (above: Bob Martin, Dennis and Jo Wilson, Sue Painting, Donna and Dave O Grady) How else can you describe a bright social evening with a warm venue (complete with log fire), tasty food (the steak and kidney pies were particularly popular at our table [Ed]) and carefully selected beverages to accompany our meals? Congratulations to Jennifer Weale and Lauren Slater for organising such a fun event. Fashion Parade. We will need helpers on the day and cooking will be required for the high tea. Please keep this afternoon available to attend. Gordon Moore and Louise Peel) Max Chapman: thanks to Fred Loneragan and Bob Martin for joining him at very short notice on Wednesday evening 31 July to serve food at the Veterinarians Conference at Charles Sturt University. The catering event was a fundraiser for Country Hope and the three Sunrise members assisted by serving the multitude with their BBQ meals and dessert. Max Chapman reminds members that the Barista training will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday 6 August at Wagga Catering, Pearson St, Wagga Wagga, under the tutelage of Robert Illsley. (below: John and Anne Wood and Sue and David Brady) So far, Max Chapman, Denise Flockton, Peter Gissing, Dave O Grady and Darren Verus have registered their interest. If you would like to join them (maximum group size is 8, and session time will be around 2 hours), please let Max know immediately. Max has also arranged for the espresso machine and coffee grinder to be serviced, to be ready for the next coffee catering event at the Trail Marathon. A Friendship Exchange team from District 9700 will visit District 7120 in New York State 12-26 September 2013. Under our District Project VISION 2000, the doctor was examining and testing the eyes of a man. Doctor, will I be able to read after wearing glasses? Yes, of course said the doctor, Why not! Oh!
