Basic Reservations Availability Availability Reference: HELP AVAIL Availability can be accessed for flights operating yesterday, today and 352 days in the future. Worldspan creates each availability display at the time of request. All trips display starting closest to the input time for a 24-hour period midnight to midnight. Flights are biased to the carrier requesting the availability. Worldspan displays all flights for the requested airline first, and then other airlines follow in the display. ENTRY: A 15JAN GCMMIA 9A (SPACING FOR CLARITY) 15JAN-TU-9A GCM MIA ** ET KX-DIR END 1 KX 102 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 805A 925A 73S 0 V9 2 KX 104 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 140P 300P 73S 0 V9 3 KX 106 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 620P 740P 73S 0 V9 > Note The first flight in the display is closest to the requested time. The remaining flights follow in order of departure. 1002 Page 1

Availability Basic Reservations Best Trip Within a particular sort level, flights are displayed in best trip order. Airlines use sort level 1. Best trip order is based on the following: Shortest elapsed time. Nonstop flights are considered to have equal elapsed time. Direct flights (same flight number with possible stops and equipment change). Online connections (change in flight numbers on same carrier). Offline connections (change in flight numbers and carrier). Inter-airport connections (changing airport). Class of Service Worldspan displays up to 24 classes of service. The classes are displayed in class order preference determined by the airline. If there are more than 8 classes of service for any one flight, the letters AC followed by 1 appear in the header line. This advises that the first availability screen is displayed. AC2 indicates the second screen is displayed, etc. Flights with additional classes of service contain a dash (-) immediately after the city pair. For connections, the dash is displayed only for applicable flights. If all flights have 8 classes or less, the indicator in the header line does not display. When specific class availability is requested, Worldspan displays the class requested not including screen numbers in the header line or the additional class indicator in the display. Page 2 1002

Basic Reservations Availability Displaying Availability Reference: HELP ABASIC The function identifier for availability is the letter A. The date and city pair can be entered in either order. If no date or time is entered, Worldspan defaults to current date and time. The computer location determines the current date and time ENTRY: A 15JAN GCMMIA 9A (SPACING FOR CLARITY) (a)15jan-tu-9a GCM MIA ** ET KX-DIR END (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) 1 KX 102 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 805A 925A 73S 0 V9 2 KX 104 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 140P 300P 73S 0 V9 3 KX 106 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 620P 740P 73S 0 V9 1002 Page 3

Availability Basic Reservations Explanation of Basic Availability (a) Header line date requested including day of week; time entered or default; city/airport pair; time zone for departure and arrival city; SEE WL only flights available for sale in at least one class appear in availability; SEE WL advises other flights operate but are sold out; AC1 advises at least one flight displayed has more than 8 classes of service. (b) Airline Code (c) Flight Number (d) Classes of Service and Seats Available See HELP ASYM when characters other than numbers appear. Airlines can restrict classes of service from displaying. (e) Airport/City Pairs If there are more than 8 classes of service a dash (-) appears after the arrival city. If there is not departure city, the flight is a connection and the flight departs from the same airport as the arrival. If there is an airport change, the availability includes departure airport code. Flight comments appear under the flight when applicable. (f) Arrival/Departure Times operating times for the flight. These can be in either 12 or 24-hour clock depending on the computer settings. #1 indicates the next day arrival. (g) Equipment Code aircraft equipment type. HELP EQP plus aircraft code decodes the equipment types used. For example, HELP EQP747. (h) Number of Stops a number indicates number of stops. 0 Zero indicates non-stop and other numbers indicate the number of stops made prior to reaching the destination airport. The second and possibly third lines in the display can contain market comments. Page 4 1002

Basic Reservations Availability Selling from Availability References: HELP 0AVL INFO 0AVL Selling flights from availability creates an itinerary segment that becomes part of a PNR (Passenger Name Record). Availability sell begins with the function identifier 0 (zero). Included are the number of seats requested, desired class of service, and line numbers. ENTRY: A 15JAN GCMMIA 9A (SPACING FOR CLARITY) 15JAN-TU-9A GCM MIA ** ET KX-DIR END 1 KX 102 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 805A 925A 73S 0 V9 2 KX 104 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 140P 300P 73S 0 V9 3 KX 106 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 620P 740P 73S 0 V9 > To sell from the availability above use one of the following entries: Sell single flight from availability. ENTRY: 01Y1 1 KX 102Y 15JAN GCMMIA SS1 805A 925A/0 $ Notice the action/advice code is SS. Upon end transaction, the action/advise code changes to HK in the PNR. 1002 Page 7

Availability Basic Reservations Sell connecting flights from availability. ENTRY: 01Y1* OR 01Y1 Y2 Passive Segments References: HELP 0MK HELP 0MAN INFO 0MK INFO 0MAN Passive Segment Notification, or Memo Segments, is a program that transmits notification to the airline advising an existing flight segment has been entered into the Worldspan reservation. This allows the airline to match the reservation in their system with the Worldspan PNR. If the reservation cannot be matched or if the airline is unable to locate a corresponding PNR in their system, a NO action/advice code and an SSR explaining the action is returned. The NO action/advice codes results in the reservation being placed on the subscriber Queue 1 for action. See HELP ACTION for more information on action/advise codes. Passive (MK) space should not be mixed with confirmed (HK) space on the same airline within the same reservation. If the passenger holds a reservation with segments booked through Worldspan and they need to add segments booked directly with an airline, the segments should be entered with an HK action/advice code. The memo segment provides the capability of entering participating carrier space booked directly with the carrier into a reservation. A reservation can be created with memo segments for ticketing. A message is not transmitted to the participating carrier unless they are Passive Segment Notification Participants. Page 8 1002

Availability Basic Reservations Waitlisting References: HELP WL INFO WL A class of service followed by 0 (zero) in an availability display indicates the class of service is not currently available but the passenger can be placed on a waitlist. A waitlist segment should be immediately followed by a confirmed alternate flight for the same city pair or an ARNK segment. Enter multiple waitlists request over the same city pair in order of priority. Airlines can elect to support the use of Priority Waitlist. This allows better control of waitlisted segments. An example use for priority waitlist is waitlist clearance of a passenger on a short flight to make a connection to a long haul flight. Entries For Waitlisting The formats are similar to selling from availability. If the desired class is not available when the sell entry is made, the following response returns. See the following example. 31JUL-TU-9A GCM MIA ** ET KX-DIR END 1 KX 102 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 735A 955A 73S 0 V0 2 KX 104 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 1250P 310P 73S 0 V8 3 KX 106 Y9 W9 H9 K9 L9 M9 Q9 T9 GCMMIA 545P 805P 73S 0 V9 ENTRY: 01V1 * KX 102V 31JUL GCMMIA *** 0 AVBL/WL OPEN > Page 10 1002

Availability Basic Reservations Schedules References: HELP SKD INFO SKD Schedules for flights can be requested up to 352 days in the future. Airline schedules are received each Monday and Wednesday from OAG (Official Airline Guide) via electronic link. The OAG tapes are processed and loaded into Worldspan on Wednesday and Saturday of the same week. The display provides a 30-day search of all effective flights and includes the day-ofweek operation. Effective and discontinued dates are displayed when supplied by the carriers. Schedule displays do not cross midnight. Sell entries and flight service information cannot be made from a schedule display. Schedule displays are requested using only city pairs. Dates and times are optional. Only direct flights display in departure time order beginning at the time in the entry and going forward. Any flights that depart earlier than the input time do not display.
