Also attended the 100 year commemoration of the Battle of the Somme at the Botanical Gardens, attended two separate Lions District speech competitions for our primary schools and also meetings with Sharon Taylor Group Manager Community Services Proposed Clr Stevens Seconded Clr Mulvey That the Chairperson s report be received and noted. 2 CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES Proposed Clr Burt Seconded Clr Brien That the minutes of the meeting of the held on 19 July 2016, excluding the public excluded item, be confirmed as a true and correct record. #1020548 1 20 September 2016

3 YMCA SOUTH AND MID CANTERBURY YOUTH SERVICES SIX MONTHLY REPORT TO 30 JUNE 2016 The Committee considered the YMCA South and Mid Canterbury Youth Services six monthly report to 30 June 2016. Proposed Clr Wills Seconded Clr Burt That the report be received and noted. 4 CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED FUNDING The Committee noted the thank you letters for funding received from the Geraldine Anzac Commemorations Trust, NZ Council of Victim Support Groups Inc, Riparian Support Trust and Christina Ryan. Seconded Clr Stevens That the correspondence be received and noted. 5 FUNDING APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED UNDER DELEGATED AUTHORITY The Committee noted the funding applications that had been approved under delegated authority. Seconded Clr Tierney That the information be received and noted. 6 RECEIPT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS SELECTION PANEL MINUTES The Committee considered the minutes of the Community Awards Selection Panel. St Andrews Church Geraldine $338 That a $338 donation be allocated to St Andrews Church Geraldine towards costs to stage a Light Party, St Andrews Church Geraldine grounds, 28 October 2016. Craighead Diocesan School Board of Proprietors Timaru Christmas Parade Charitable Trust Donations and Loans Policy Alteration $10,000 $500,000 That a $10,000 substantial donation be allocated to Craighead Diocesan School Board of Proprietors, towards costs to build a new Gymnasium Complex, in recognition of the public use component of the facility. That a $500,000 Sport and Recreation Loan with a 5 year term, be offered to Craighead Diocesan School Board of Proprietors towards costs to build a new Gymnasium Complex for the school and community use; subject to suitable security being put in place in regard to the loan. That in line with the Donations and Loans policy, the late application from the Timaru Christmas Parade Charitable Trust, not be accepted for consideration. That the policy be amended to allow donations for Christmas parades to be made for more than 3 years consecutively. The meeting concluded at 10.45am.
