Rawson Resources Limited ABN 69 082 752 985 PO Box R1868 Royal Exchange NSW 1225 13 th March 2008 Exploration Update, March 2008 DRILLING OF SIMPSON 1 WELL Rawson Resources Limited ( Rawson ASX code RAW ) the operator of the 1300 sq km EP97 in the Pedirka Basin, Simpson Desrt, Northern Territory is pleased to announce the proposed following operations in the first half of 2008. Roadwork is in progress for access to the Simpson 1 well location (see map below), Central Petroleum Limited ( Central ASX code CTP) plans to dril Simpson 1 (after completing their Blamore 1 well) in May 2008. The estimated potential for the Simpson prospect is in the 10-50 million barrels of oil range. Rawson has a 20% free carried interest in the Simpson farmout area. Central will also be completing the 100km Madigan 2D seismic survey (see map below) during this period, as part of its farmin commitment; giving the Central / Rawson Joint Venture an additional prospect as well as the Dune and Bejah prospects for further drilling after the Simpson 1 well. EP 97 is ideally located to trap oil and gas from both the traditional Permian and Triassic source rocks in the Eringa Trough as well as new source potential from the Triassic and Jurassic Simpson Desert Basin. Any discovery of commercial hydrocarbons will put the Pedirka Basin into a Cooper Basin scenario.
COAL SEAM METHANE DRILLNG PLANNED FOR 2008 Rawson, as part of its operations in Queensland is planning the following activities in 2008. Coal Seam Methane (CSM) wells in the newly acquired ATP 873P on trend with the Lacerta Gasfield. (Rawson will have a 15% interest). Surat Basin LEICHHARDT 200 sq km 3D seismic, 2 wells in CSM farmout ATP 632P BENNETT ATP 746P WALLOON CSM TREND ATP 788P Two CSM wells in on the Undulla nose. Carried interest of 15% in the first two wells. CABAWIN PL 1 ATP 746P TRUenergy Qld. Pty. Ltd will operate both CSM drilling progams. OTWAY BASIN PEL 154 and PEL 155 Rawson completed the Nangwarry and Burrungle seismic acquisition in February 2008. This $2 million programme was paid for by Hardie Energy Pty.Limited as part of a farmin commitment. Processing of these two surveys will be complete by May 2008 enabling the Joint venture to select drilling targets in the second half of 2008. Rawson has a 37.5% working interest and is operator of the Joint Venture in both areas.
BASS BASIN T/45P Negotiations are continuing with farminees, with The Candlewood 3-D seismic program planned for the October/November weather window in 2008.
URANIUM PROGRAM IN WESTERN U.S.A. Leasing has started in a region in western U.S.A. where Rawson Uranium Pty. Limited (50%0 and its partner Geochemical Exploration Inc. of Dallas, Texas have located an area with high background radiometric anomalies. Surface sampling has also confirmed that anomalous Lead, Zinc and Uranium are present. Once the leasing program has been completed, further details will be released to the ASX.
