The importance of travel information for tourists and residents in the Alps the AlpInfoNet project Sustainable Mobility Information Network for the Alpine Space Vienna, 11 th December 2013
The project idea of AlpInfoNet was developed in cooperation with the members of the Sub-working Group Sustainable Mobility of the Working Group Transport in the Alpine Convention Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland 2
Why AlpInfoNet??? more and more tourists and inhabitants do not own a car anymore last mile offers are often missing use of public transportation by tourists in the Alpine Space is very low lack of information on sustainable mobility Continous transnational door-to-door information system for sustainable mobility needed! 3
The project AlpInfoNet is co-financed by the Alpine Space Programme - European territorial Cooperation 2007-2013 through the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE). has a project duration from July 2012 until June 2015. 76 % (EFRE) of the total project budget of 2.997.867 will be co-financed aims to provide travellers with comprehensive information about sustainable transport modes beyond regional and national borders and to address them through smart channels that provide information when needed. A transnational network with 13 project partners from 5 countries is working together to reach the project goal! 4
