Visit the perfectly proportioned Parthenon, a graceful example of Doric architecture and the most famous temple in all of Greece, dedicated to Athena patron goddess of the city of Athens. In its UNESCO World Heritage-designated Sanctuary of Asklepios, see the imposing 14,000 seat theater that was lost during antiquity and remained undiscovered until the 19 th century, rendering it the most intact ancient theater in the world still in use today. Visit the impressive stone fortress of Palamidi, built by the Venetians in 1714, overlooking the sparkling waters of the Argolic Gulf. In ancient Corinth, tour the Corinth Excavations site and walk through its Archaeological Museum, featuring a large collection of statues, mosaics, pottery and sarcophagi from the ancient site itself and other neighboring excavation sites such as Gonia, Acrocorinth and Korakou.
