CZECH NATIONAL AEROCLUB AEROCLUB ZBRASLAVICE BULLETIN No.1.2 21 st FAI WORLD GLIDER AEROBATIC CHAMPIONSHIP 9 th FAI WORLD ADVANCED GLIDER AEROBATIC CHAMPIONSHIP Zbraslavice 2018 Czech Republic 1.2.2018 v1.2

1. General Organizer 1.1.1. The 21 st FAI World Glider Aerobatic Championship 2018 (WGAC) and 9 th FAI World Advanced Glider Aerobatic Championship 2018 (WAGAC) will take place under the auspices of the Czech National Aeroclub. 1.1.2. The operational Organizer is Aeroklub Zbraslavice, Airfield Zbraslavice, Czech Republic. Place and Date 1.2.1. The event will take place at Zbraslavice Airfield, located about 60 km southeast of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. 1.2.2. More info about airfield is available at www.lkzb.cz. 1.2.3. The event will take place in the period of time: August 2 nd to August 11 th 2018. 1.2.4. Familiarisation fligh will begin on 29 th July and will end on 1 st August. 1.2.5. Opening briefing will be on 1 st August at 18.30LT. Familiarisation/Free Training Flights 1.3.1. Free training flights at Zbraslavice airfield will be possible from July 25 th till July 28 th 2018. The competition box will be marked for free training days. 1.3.2. Familiarisation flights at Zbraslavice airfield will be possible from July 29 th till August 1 st 2018. The competition box will be marked for familiarisation flight days. 1.3.3. During the practical part of the Judging seminar (14:00 16:00, 1 st August) will be 4 to 6 flights reserved and Chief Judge decision of flight order will have priority. Other competitor s familiarisation flights can be performed in between Judging seminar flights. 1.3.4. Earlier training flights are possible with previous agreement with Organizer. In case of need, please contact the Organizer at e-mail: info@wgac2018.cz or via the contact information in part 11 of this document. 1.3.5. Training at other airfields in Zbraslavice airfield vicinity is possible with previous agreement with Organizer. In case of need, please contact the Organizer at e-mail: info@wgac2018.cz or the other contact information in part 11 of this document. 1.3.6. Booking of slots for familiarisation/free training will be available at the official contest website www.wgac2018.cz not later than July 1 st 2018. Schedule 2.1.2018 v1.2 Page 2

1.4.1. Official working hours of the Contest Office and Organizers will be from 08.00LT to half an hour after the landing of the last competitor or 20.00LT whatever comes later. 1.4.2. These hours are valid for any official inquiries or information or deposit of claims/protest concerning the contest during the contest s period. 1.4.3. All times are stated in local time (LT=UTC+2 hrs). 1.4.4. The Schedule may be changed due to technical and organizational reasons as well as the weather conditions. 1.4.5. 2. Regulations Rules 2.1.1. The WGAC&WAGAC 2018 will be conducted according to the following rules: FAI Sporting Code General Section, FAI Sporting Code Section 6 Part 2, Flight Rules published by the Civil Aviation Authorities of the Czech Republic, Local Regulations. Official Language 2.2.1. The official languages during the WGAC&WAGAC 2018 are Czech and English. The language of all communications and briefings is English. 3. Participation, Competitors and Aircrafts Participants 3.1.1. All FAI member NACs may be represented at the WGAC&WAGAC 2018 by the team and/or an individual competitors/observers. 3.1.2. Entries will be accepted from according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 Part 2, 1.2.6. 3.1.3. Each NAC can enter up to a maximum of eight (8) competitors. If there would be over 70 competitors, the organizer reserves the right to decrease the number of competitors per team. NAC s will be notified of at least two months prior to beginning of the Event according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 Part 2, 1.2.6.1 a) 3.1.4. Each competitor must be a holder of: a valid Glider Pilot License with an aerobatic extension according to competitor s national legislation, a valid FAI Sporting License, a valid Medical certificate, a valid personal insurance policy. Aircraft 3.2.1. All participating aircraft must satisfy the performance criteria essential for competition flights in the advanced/unlimited aerobatic category. 3.2.2. For all competing aircraft a valid Certificate of Airworthiness of the related country must be presented. 3.2.3. For all competing aircraft using the airspace of the Czech Republic, liability insurance must be concluded with respect to damage caused by operation of that aircraft to third parties covering a minimum amount in SDR (Special Drawing Rights) or in equivalent value of any other freely convertible currencies, for the aircraft with MTOW as mentioned below: 2.1.2018 v1.2 Page 4

MTOW up to 500 kg MTOW above 500 kg to 1000 kg 750.000 SDR (approx. 870.000 EUR) 1.500.000 SDR (approx. 1.800.000 EUR) 3.2.4. Each competing aircraft must be insured against 3rd Party Public Liability, according to EU Regulation (EC) No. 785/2004, claims with a minimum amount as mentioned above according to MTOW. Aircraft arriving to the Czech Republic must be able to present their insurance policy with a copy in English, certified by the Insurance Company. 3.2.5. All competing aircrafts must be equipped with VHF radio channel separation of 8,33 khz according to Implementing Regulation (IR) 1079/2012 of European Commission valid from January 1 st 2018. 3.2.6. Each competition glider must have mounted a unit for placing the altimeter encoder for using the HMD. HMD mount has to be in compliance with Section 6 Part 2, Appendix C. 3.2.7. Hangar space for competing aircraft will be available free of charge for the period of the Championship. 3.2.8. In case of insufficient hangar capacity, priority will be determined by the Organizer. In case of doubt, the order of received Entry Fee payment dates will be taken in account. 4. Team Composition Competitors 4.1.1. As specified in para 3.1. of this Bulletin. Other Team Members 4.2.1. Each team may include the following officials: 1 Chief delegate, 1 Team manager, 1 Trainer/Coach, 1 Interpreter, 1 Doctor, 1 to 3 Mechanics. Observers 4.3.1. Other persons (i.e. team member s relatives) will be accepted as observers of National Team. No Entry Fee for observers will be collected, but attendance at Opening and Closing ceremonies or other events of championships official program needs to be paid separately. 5. Entries and Registration Deadline for the Entries 5.1.1. The Official Entry Forms as well as the Entry Fee must be provided to the Organizer not later than May 18 th 2018 according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 Part 2, 1.4. 5.1.2. If payment is made later or at the contest site, an additional EUR 150 will be charged. 5.1.3. Any participant wishing to query the arrival and clearance of their fees should contact the Organizer using e-mail info@wgac2018.cz or the other contact information in part 11 of this document. 5.1.4. Entry Fee must be paid in full amount and bank fees must be charged to sender s account. Registration 5.2.1. Registration can be made using following communication channels: Ordinary mail - send your applications to AEROKLUB ZBRASLAVICE at the address specified in part 11.1. Electronically using email use email address info@wgac2018.cz in which case registrations should be considered as valid after confirmation from the Organizer. Electronically using the webform at website www.wgac2018.cz. In this case confirmation letter form NAC needs to be uploaded. More details available at contest website. 5.2.2. Registration is valid and complete by submitting the Official Entry Forms and/or online registration form with NAC confirmation by mail, e-mail or online. Free Known sequence submission 5.3.1. The Free Known sequence of each competitor should be submitted not later than one week before the opening briefing according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 Part 2, 2.2.1.9. 5.3.2. Deadline for the Free Known submission is on 25 th of July (WED) at 18.30 LT. 5.3.3. Competitors may submit their Free Known sequence to the e-mail address info@wgac2018.cz. Every submission will be confirmed. Sequence submissions are not valid without confirmation. 5.3.4. Each competitor must submit a computer file of his Free Known sequence in an acceptable format. The computer file must contain complete pages for forms A, B and C as well as forms L and R. The competitor is responsible that the software used has been updated to comply with the Aresti System (Condensed) and Section 6, Part 2 regulations as currently amended by CIVA. 5.3.5. Hard copies alone or hand drawings will not be accepted. 2.1.2018 v1.2 Page 6

6. Entry Fees Entry Fees 6.1.1. Entry Fees are specified as follows: Competitor: EUR 750 Other team members and observers: EUR 350 6.1.2. To pay the Entry Fee please use the bank details provided in the paragraph 12.1.1 6.1.3. The Entry Fee does not include the expenses of the accommodation, meals nor the towing service. 6.1.4. The Entry Fee covers: Official and social functions; Program arranged by the Organizer. The CIVA Sanction Fee, 160 EUR per pilot. Entry Fee Refund Policy 6.2.1. If a registered competitor or official has to withdraw, his/her NAC may substitute another pilot or team member with no financial penalty. If a participant wishes to cancel or change their entry, the NAC representative must contact the Organizer. 6.2.2. Withdrawal before 1 st June 2018 100% of the entry fee will be refunded. 6.2.3. Withdrawal after 1 st June and up to 27 th July 2018 50% of the fee will be refunded. 6.2.4. Withdrawal after 27 th July 2018 no entry fee will be refunded. 6.2.5. In the case of entry fee refunds the refunded amount will be reduced by any bank fees that apply to the Organizer. 6.2.6. If a competitor is disqualified from the event according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 part 2, no entry fee will be refunded. 7. Towing 7.1.1. Towing will be provided using three towing aircrafts plus one as a back-up. Towing Costs Towing 1250m 68 EUR Towing 850m 53 EUR 7.2.1. 8. Protests Protest Fee 8.1.1. Protest must be submitted accompanied by the payment of 70 EUR. 9. Accommodation and catering Accommodation 9.1.1. Organizer will help with securing accommodation. In case of need please contact the Organizer using e-mail info@wgac2018.cz or using other contact information in part 11 of this document. 9.1.2. Camp will be situated at LKZB airfield area with cost of 10 EUR for a tent or caravan per day, 5 EUR for a person per day. 9.1.3. Accommodation can be also provided in ***/**** standard hotels in the LKZB vicinity. Organizer can arrange discounts for the hotel. Early booking and/or bigger groups are advised. 9.1.4. List of the hotels will be published on the contest website www.wgac2018.cz. Catering 9.2.1. Three meals per day and refreshment for all participants will be available by a restaurant in area of the LKZB airfield. Meals are not included in the Entry Fee. 10. Officials 10.1.1. No Entry Fee is required for CIVA appointed Officials. 10.1.2. Organizer covers accommodation and meals for following Officials: 3 members of International Jury. Chief Judge and 2 Assistants. 7 CIVA selected Judges. 7 Judge Assistants. 10.1.3. Accommodation for Officials will be covered by the Organizer from August 1 st to August 13 th. Meals will be provided from August 1 st to August 12 th. International Jury President of Int. 14. How to get to Zbraslavice airfield (LKZB) To get to airfield from Prague take the highway to Brno D1. Take exit No. 56 - Soutice. After leaving the highway, take right turn to road no. 126 going to Zruč nad Sázavou. Continue on main road for approximately 17 km, than you will reach town Zbraslavice. Than follow the WGAC & WAGAC 2015 signs with an aircraft symbol. Simply continue through Zbraslavice and airfield is located on right side of the road. A toll applies to all Czech highways. We advise you to buy 10 day toll stamp. Trip time from Prague international airport is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. 2.1.2018 v1.2 Page 11
