GoNevadaCounty.com Website Maintenance Contract JULY - DECEMBER 2015 EXTENSIONS Website maintenance for GoNevadaCounty.com was subcontracted by the Nevada County Economic Resource Council by extending an original contract with the County for an additional two-year period from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2015. This coincided with a two-year County tourism initiative, led by a marketing manager and an advisory committee of tourism stakeholders. As the two-year tourism initiative contract expired on June 30, the NCERC requested and was granted an extension of the website maintenance contract twice. The first time was for a three-month period ending in September, and the second time was for an additional three-month period ending in December. This report reflects website maintenance for those six months. During the six-month extension, the Nevada County Tourism contract expired and the two-year-old tourism initiative was dissolved. This included providing the website with a wide variety of content, including quarterly What s New releases about upcoming countywide events from the marketing manager, articles generated from media familiarization tours, and content generated from the meetings of the tourism advisory committee. Additionally, without long-range tourism collaboration, as well as planned events, such as last year s Visit California Restaurant Week that included Nevada County restaurants for the first time, there was less opportunity to identify and promote countywide events during the past six months. As a result, work on GoNevadaCounty.com during this period focused on core maintenance services that included updates to the events calendar, business and event listings, broken link checks, and promotion of countywide tourism activities submitted from other sources both on the website and social media. During the six-month contract extension, the activities included increasing Facebook activity at least 50 percent and weekly postings to the tourism blog All Aboard! as stated in the contract:

GoNevadaCounty.com s Facebook activity continues to exceed the stated activity in the contract and has increased 83 percent since July 1, 2015. Facebook likes grew to 3,154 at December 31 from 1,727 at June 30. All Aboard! blog posts totaled over 149 in six months, well exceeding the 24 postings required by the contract over six months. The site continues to draw the most visitors from San Francisco (#1) and Sacramento (#2). Los Angeles ranks #5. Despite challenges presented during the contract extension, such as the expiration of the County tourism initiative and the lack of submitted content from tourism advisory committee members, website traffic for the current six month period compared with the previous six month period remained virtually unchanged (visits down 3 percent and unique visitors down 0.3 percent). GoNevadaCounty.com remains a viable asset for County tourism and should benefit from the implementation of a new web related services and internal local marketing effort initiatives outlined in the latest request for proposal issued by the NCERC once it is implemented.

With an overspending of $380 during the proceeding contract year July 2014 through June 2015 that reduced the overspent amount to $280.37.
