Arriving to the heart of the Whitsundays Airlie Beach is located in the Whitsundays on Queensland s central coast, approximately 1120km north of Brisbane and 630km south of Cairns. The Whitsundays also comprises of 74 magnificent islands, including five island resorts, which are all easily accessible from our home at Abell Point Marina. Arriving to the Whitsundays from overseas is best done by flying into Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney or Melbourne, and then booking a domestic flight into one of the Whitsundays two airports. Brisbane offers the best range of connecting flights into the region. The two airports that service the Whitsundays daily are: Whitsunday Coast Airport, Proserpine (PPP) Whitsunday Coast Airport is located in Proserpine, approximately 25 minutes to Airlie Beach. The airport is serviced by Virgin Australia and Jetstar offering daily flights from Brisbane and connecting flights from other cities. Tiger Airways providing direct flights from Sydney and Jetstar flying direct from Melbourne three times a week. Buses and taxis meet every flight to transfer guests to Airlie Beach, or to ferries connecting with the island resorts. Car and limousine hire is also available at the airport. Great Barrier Reef Airport, Hamilton (HTI) Located on Hamilton, the airport is serviced by Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Qantas Link with daily flights from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and connection points beyond. Cruise Whitsundays operates ferries from Hamilton to transfer passengers to Airlie Beach on the Whitsunday Coast and other island resorts.
