START DAY: Daily Day 1: Arrival Manila (L) Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and proceed for a tour of Old Manila. Starts with a visit to historic Rizal Park where the remains of the country s national hero, Dr Jose Rizal lie within the cornerstone of Rizal Monument. Heads to the old walled city of Intramuros built during the Spanish colonial period. Stop at Fort Santiago and Casa Manila, a reconstructed 19 th century mansion replete with 16 th to 19 th century furniture and furnishings. Visit Baluarte De San Diego, designed and built by Jesuit priest, Antonio Sedeno in 1586 and one of the oldest stone fortifications in Intramuros. Day 2: Corregidor Island Tour (B, L) After breakfast, take a ferryboat ride to Corregidor, the island-fortress. Located 26 miles west of Manila, The Rock as it became known during World War II, was the last Filipino-American bastion to fall to the Japanese. Tour includes a guided visit to the island s many silent guns and historical landmarks. The stirring Light and Sound Show inside the cavernous Malinta Tunnel which served as General Douglas McArthur s headquarters during the siege should not be missed. Return to Manila after lunch. Day 3: Pagsanjan Falls Tour (B, L) Take a 2-hour southeast of Manila passing through quaint provincial towns, rice fields and coconut plantations, you will reach one of the country s prime attractions, the town of Pagsanjan. The highlight of the tour is the boat ride on dug-out canoe up the river, amidst rising gorges and steep canyons covered with lush tropical vegetation, to a large waterfall and the thrill of a lifetime experience of shooting the rapids in breakneck downriver descent, expertly steered through swirling waters and tricky passes by brawny boatmen. (Minimum age requirement for children is 6 years and above. Not advisable for those with medical condition).
