There is time for a joint rehearsal, and you can toast your performance together with a glass of apple wine. Thursday, July 26 Concert in Black Forest Area! 8-DAY PERFORMANCE TOUR ITINERARY (subject to change) DAY 1: FRIDAY, JULY 20, 2018 OVERNIGHT FLIGHT (-) Welcome aboard! Your Performance Tour begins with today s overnight trans-atlantic flight. DAY 2: SATURDAY, JULY 21, 2018 DORSTEN/GELSENKIRCHEN (D) Arrive in Frankfurt and meet your full-time bilingual Tour Manager, who will greet you at the airport and welcome you abroad. Exploration begins right away, as you transfer to the North Rhine-Westphalia, home of your first friendship concert while in Germany. Along the way, visit the cultural hub of Cologne and the 2000-year old reconstructed old town. Your tour manager will lead an orientation stroll. Entrance is included to the Cologne Cathedral, a renowned monument to German Catholicism and Gothic architecture, before continuing to the area of Dorsten/Gelsenkirchen. Check-in to your accommodation and refresh from your journey. Enjoy an included dinner of German specialties along the way, at a local restaurant, or the hotel, and a restful evening and overnight.
DAY 3: SUNDAY, JULY 22, 2018 Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel today, and each morning for the remainder of your trip. Sightseeing will show you the charms of Dorsten with a local guide. Visit Lembeck Castle for a tour; the monumental 17 th century complex, built on two islands, stands on the site of the 14 th century fortress, and the approach path and portals are both striking and a beautiful example of Northern Baroque Water Castles. The history of Dorsten is further shared with a visit to the former industrial creative quarter, with free time for lunch on your own. Later this afternoon there is an exchange party with the local gospel choir Swinging Church, with time to spend getting to know your performance hosts. This evening s joint concert is presented at St. Agatha Church or similar. DAY 4: MONDAY, JULY 23, 2018 DORSTEN/GELSENKIRCHEN (B/D) HEIDELBERG (B/D) Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning, before continuing your tour of Germany. View the hauntingly beautiful Rhine River from aboard a boat cruise, to see romantic towns and castles dotting the steep rocks, and perhaps encounter the beautiful enchantress Lorelei, a myth from the Germany literary giant, Heinrich Heine. There is free time provided for lunch on your own, along the river, in Sankt Goar or similar. Your day ends in romantic Heidelberg, Germany s oldest and most famous university town, and one of the country s most enchanting cities! Dinner is included, and served at a local restaurant.
DAY 5: TUESDAY, JULY 24, 2018 HEIDELBERG (B/L) Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Meet with a local guide and enjoy an introductory walking tour, as you stroll through the cobblestone streets of medieval Old Town and see the Church of the Holy Spirit. A highlight is entrance to the impressive ruins of Heidelberg Castle. The Heidelberg lower railways funicular is included to enjoy the spectacular views of the Neckar valley and for those interested, there is the opportunity for a hike along one of the many footpaths, or up the 1200 steps of the picturesque Stairway to Heaven trail. A picnic lunch is included today; dinner is on your own. Later this afternoon, meet with a local gospel choir and prepare for this evening s joint concert performance! DAY 6: WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 2018 Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Discover the Black Forest today, a region famous for its clean air, hiking, spas, cuckoo clocks, and the most famous of German deserts, the Black Forest Cake. The Schwarzwald s forests became home to artisans such as glass blowers and clock makers, and today you will visit the town of Freiburg, with free time for lunch on your own. A local guide will join you for a walking tour, including a visit of the pretty square of Rathausplatz. Entrance is provided to the Augustinermuseum, with its renowned collection of works ranging from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period, through the 19 th century, and housed in a transformed monastery church. Your day ends in the area of Lake Titisee, with an included dinner served at your hotel or a local restaurant. BLACK FOREST AREA (B/D)
DAY 7: THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2018 BLACK FOREST AREA (B/D) Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Experience Triberg Falls today, one of the highest waterfalls in Germany, a magnificent spectacle of nature, and a landmark in the Black Forest region. Enjoy the nature park with your tour manager, and later shop for souvenirs, or sit back and relax along the lake front; there will be free time for lunch on your own. TERMS AND CONDITIONS LAND DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS A minimum deposit of $300 per person is required with participant registration forms prior to the commencement of Tumlare Corporation, Inc. services. Full payment must be received 90 days prior to commencement of services, or per your customized payment plan. Tumlare Corporation, Inc. will request full payment for certain items such as theatre or event tickets. Payment will be requested at the time such items are booked. GROUP REVIEW: 120 Days Prior: Review of names and passport information (passport photo page requested), and reduction of blocked air space to actual group size. 90 Days Prior: Finalization of group with names and passport information. CANCELLATION POLICY Participants canceling within the 120-day period may be charged the following maximum percentages of the tour price. Additionally, services which have been prepaid by Tumlare Corporation, Inc. on behalf of individual clients may be subject to a cancellation fee (e.g. theatre tickets etc.). The first $200 of your tour cost is non-refundable. Registration through 121 days prior: $200 120-90 days prior: 20% 89 to 61 days prior: 40% 60 to 30 days prior: 50% 29 to 0 days prior: 100% SINGLE ROOMS The single supplement rate is quoted on the basis that single rooms shall not exceed approximately 20% if the total rooms required, unless otherwise agreed and confirmed. Some hotels may charge a further fee should the group exceed this percentage. BAGGAGE When porterage of baggage is included in a program, it is based upon a maximum of 1 piece of standard airline baggage per person. Participants bringing excess baggage may incur a surcharge. For the sake of passenger comfort, Tumlare Corporation, Inc. recommends that participants limit baggage to 1 suitcase per person plus 1 carry on. AIR DEVIATIONS If the airline that is booked for your group will allow a deviation, Tumlare will assist with alternate arrangements. A $200.00 deviation charge is applied to any participant wishing to extend his/her stay in the original return gateway, as well as additional air collections charged by the airline, if applicable. Participants wishing to return from a different gateway will be charged the deviation fee plus any additional related costs. Alternate return requests must be received by Tumlare at least 120 days in advance of departure; however, it is strongly recommended to make your request early, to receive best access to flight availability and costs. ITEMS NOT INCLUDED Tumlare Corporation, Inc. programs do not include items of a personal nature such as laundry, hotel extras, telephone charges, gratuities to tour manager, drivers, and local guides, drinks with meals (unless otherwise stated in a proposal). All participants are responsible for settling such accounts prior to their return to the USA.
TAXES As of the date of this proposal local and central government taxes are included for all services as levied by the governments of the USA and countries visited as specified. In the unlikely event that tax structures are amended at any time prior to the travel date, Tumlare will pass on all such additional taxes to the travel agent or group organizer, for collection. CURRENCY EXCHANGE AND FUEL SURCHARGES All prices are quoted using the prevailing rate of exchange between the Euro, and the USD from the date the original offer was made. If the rate of exchange changes by more than 4%, Tumlare reserves the right to revise the selling prices according to the current exchange rate between the Euro and the USD. Tumlare reserves the right to change the price of the tour/program before it commences due to fuel surcharges, currency fluctuations, tariff increases from common carriers and suppliers, etc. If there is a surcharge to be applied such notice will be given no later than 45 days prior to the start of the tour or program. PROTECTION PLAN Tumlare Corporation, Inc. strongly recommends that all participants be adequately covered for medical expenses, baggage loss or damage, and trip cancellation or interruption. There is an optional Group Lite health and travel Protection Plan available for this tour, provided through Travel Insured. VISA & PASSPORTS As of the time of going to print, US citizens require a full and valid passport to enter the European Union. Your passport should be valid for a minimum of six months beyond your travel dates. Non-US Citizens may require an entry visa and should check with the appropriate local consulate offices, allowing good time to complete the necessary paperwork prior to departing the USA. Legal travel documentation is the responsibility of each traveler. PAYMENTS Tour payments should be by check or money order, and made payable to Tumlare Travel Organization, Inc. ; Credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) are accepted for online payments. LATE FEES A fee of $100 will be charged to all late final payments. RETURNED CHECK FEE A fee of $100 will be charged for all checks returned for insufficient funds. RESPONSIBILITY If Tumlare Corporation, Inc. has to cancel a tour or is unable to carry out all services due to circumstances beyond our control, we will do all possible to secure services of comparable or better standard or refund all monies in full. Tumlare Corporation, Inc. accepts no responsibility for loss or additional expenses incurred due to delays, changes, omissions or errors made by our suppliers including but not limited to air, sea, ground transportation, war, weather, quarantine and strikes. All persons working with Tumlare Corporation, Inc. will be deemed to have accepted the conditions contained herein by submitting a booking deposit. CLAIMS Any claims must be made no later than 1 month after the end of the tour.
