Dear Parents, Welcome to the 2016 Season of Camp Gan Israel Highland Park! (Piscataway) We are delighted to welcome both returning families and new ones. We are confident that you and your children will have a wonderful experience. The counselors and staff at Camp Gan Israel Highland Park (Piscataway) are eager to greet your children, and there are many exciting programs planned for this year. Camp Gan Israel is committed to providing a superb day camp experience for Jewish children in the Central NJ area. We offer an outstanding athletic program, amazing trips, outstanding sports and creative art programs, under the guidance of great instructors. Our premises at the Bartle Elementary School offer us a state-ofthe-art facility with access to a wonderful outdoor area with a beautiful playground. It also includes an indoor air-conditioned gymnasium, multi purpose room, cafeteria and classrooms. Our camp operates under the direction of the NJ Department of Health and the American Camping Association. At Camp Gan Israel, the campers are imbued with a deep sense of pride in Yiddishkeit. The children are taught about our heritage through hands on crafts, stories games and contests that are part of the unique Camp Gan Israel experience. Interpersonal skills are interwoven within our spectacular program to maximize each child s personal qualities. Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Friday: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm Aftercare: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Monday-Thursday) Drop off: 8:50 am - 9:00 am Pickup: 3:50 pm - 4:00 pm Friday Pickup: 2:20 pm - 2:30 pm Divisions Mini Gan: Ages 3-5 Day Camp: Boys and girls entering grade 1-3 Pioneers: Boys and girls entering grade 4-7 CIT s: Girls entering grade 8 (limited availability) Counselors: Boys & girls entering grade 9+. Pioneer Division Our Pioneers Program is designed for boys and girls entering grades 4-7. This program combines our regular programming along with special activities, late nights and overnight trips. At a higher athletic level, Pioneers are now able to refine their sports skills as well as develop lifelong skills. We aim to provide a summer filled with many opportunities for growth individually and as a team. From dance, music, cake decorating, drama, baking, karate, and a new canvas painting program there's something for everyone! Counselors are now big brother/big sister role models and work to ensure that these campers learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and enhance self-esteem.
Camp Rates Camp Fees include daily hot lunches, two snacks (fruit and grain), activities, trips, bathing cap for each level completed and a camp tshirt. Day Camp Rates Per Week Per Month Per Summer Super Rate (by Sep. 10, 2015) $235 $940 $1880 Early Bird Rate (by March 10, 2016) $255 $1020 $2040 Final Rate $275 $1100 $2200 Bus Fee $50 $200 $400 Aftercare: (Monday-Thursday 4:00-5:00 pm) $25 $100 $200 Aftercare: Parents are required to commit on a weekly basis. Enrollment after June 1, 2016 will have a $20 surcharge added per week. Sibling Discount: There is a 5% sibling discount for 2nd child, and 10% discount for third child. To register: Please fill out an online application form & a $200 deposit per each camper. Your deposit will be applied toward the tuition fee and is fully refundable before March 10, 2016 All other required forms will be sent to you after we receive your application form and the $200.00 per child deposit. Changes: All changes must be sent to us in writing. Changes made after June 1, 2016 will be charged at the current rate. Medical: In the event that a camper cannot complete his or her stay due to a medical issue, a refund will be provided using a pro rata basis upon receipt of a letter from a licensed, practicing physician. The Balance of the camp tuition and transportation costs must be paid in full by June 1, 2016 or the discount offer will no longer apply. Missed Days are non exchangeable and non refundable. Registration is on a weekly basis (there is no signing up for separate days in the week) and there are no make up days for sick or vacation days. There are no refunds for days missed or absences. Cancellations after March 29, 2016 will be subject to a $100 administrative fee. There will be no refunds at all after March 10, 2016. Refunds: Please allow 4-8 weeks for a refund to be issued. Shabbaton is for campers entering grade 4-7. Cost is $25. Staff is free. Family Events Camp Gan Israel aims to involve the entire family in the wonderful camping experience. Lunch Menu Salad, pasta, yogurt, fruits and sandwiches (American cheese, jelly, butter and cream cheese, white and whole wheat bread) are available daily. Food from home cannot be brought to camp. If your child has a special dietary concern, please contact the camp office to make alternate arrangements. Summer Schedule Camp Gan Israel aims to expose the children to the widest array of activities, trips, and educational programs. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are dedicated to a wide variety of specialty instructors and camp activities. On Wednesday, campers board the busses for trip day.
Daily Sample Schedule A week generally includes one trip day. One-four times a week, mornings are dedicated to Swimming, Sports, Dance, Theatre, Karate, Music, Arts & Crafts, Scrapbooking, PVC Pipe fun, Recycling Box Art, Challah Baking, Edible Crafts, Jewelry Making, Outdoor Hunt, Archery, Playground, Outdoor Games, Mad Science, Prize Store, Camp Special Activity, Team & Leadership games, plus many more. A detailed schedule is emailed home every Friday.
