BATIMAT: A 360 VISION OF ARCHITECTURE inside and out BATIMAT will be taking place from 4 to 8 November, this year at a new location the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. This venue, thanks to its proximity to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport and TGV station, along with the joint staging with Interclima elec and Idéo bain will create an event involving more than 3,500 exhibitors and 400,000 visitors from all over the world. THE INTER- NATIONAL INNOVATION EVENT FOR CONSTRUCTION BATIMAT provides a powerful boost for the spread of new products through the building market and a real springboard for manufacturers who are launching innovations. This is the main reason that 96 per cent of the exhibitors give for taking part in it. This year, cnce again, from 4 to 8 November, BATIMAT will be at the heart of challenges facing construction and in particular those relating to energy performance and low consumption. The 2011 show presented numerous innovative products. It stimulated a host of discussions and encouraged the sharing of experience on this strategic subject. 2013 will take things further. Two additional themes will also feature in 2013: building accessibility and comfort, and the strong technological dimension to construction. Besides being an opportunity to discover new materials and solutions, BATI- MAT 2013 will be a chance to review the latest trends in building design and architecture in greater depth. our public spaces? What are the key changes taking place in our cities? In 2013, the organizers of BATIMAT are giving architects the chance to speak out, dedicating large-scale events at the show to architecture. Batimat In Situ is a unique new event offering total digital immersion in the design concepts behind the most innovative architectural projects in the Greater Paris region. A showcase for architects expertise BATIMAT In Situ forges a direct link with Paris. Located within the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre, this show will present 50 outstanding buildings completed within the Greater Paris region since late 2011 projects at the cutting edge of the region s urban development, leading the transformation of the city and the landscape. For each of the projects presented, the exhibition will offer a unique insight into the architect s thinking, through interviews, photos and key data: explaining the concept, and how the idea was realized using appropriate solutions and materials. In video presentations the designers themselves will outline the development process, highlighting their choice of materials for both exteriors and interiors and how these materials contributed to the building. This is a unique opportunity to get an insider s view of the architect s world. Total immersion in architecture BATIMAT In Situ will be officially opened on 4 November, the first day of the exhibition, featuring: close to the ZOOM Touch exhibit in Hall 5B. Visitors will be able to enjoy a truly immersive experience of the 50 projects on show, finding out about the design phases the selection of materials in particular, and how the architects interpreted the design brief via touchscreens presenting the 50 videos and architect interviews.
