INTRODUCTION When I step into the airport of Oman, everything seems so crowded and busy. I had lunch with my mother and brother, meanwhile my father was renting a car for our trip. Me and my family only had 5 days in Oman so we had to use our time wisely. We landed in the capital city of Oman, Muscat ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO Oman Natural History Museum The museum opened on the 20th of December 1985. Now, people usually spend 6 hours there! One of the museum s highlights is the whale room; this is made up of a huge skeleton of a sperm whale which was found washed up on the Omani coastline in the 1980s. Al-Alam Palace The Al - Alam Palace is the ceremonial palace of Sultan Qaboos of Oman. The Sultan himself rarely stays in the Al - Alam Palace, but the palace has been used by other important people like the Queen of England and the Queen of the Netherlands. The palace is not open to public but tourists can walk around the yard and gardens in front of the palace at any time. Star Ratings: 4.6. Location: Old Muscat, Oman. Corniche Mutrah Corniche Mutrah, (or otherwise called plain mutrah or muttrah ) stretches along an attractive corniche (that s why it's called corniche mutrah) full of latticed buildings and mosques. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque (for muslims only) The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the main mosque in the whole Sultanate of Oman. In 1992 the Sultan of Oman announced that his country needed a Grand Mosque. So, a competition for its design took place in 1993 and after a fit sight was chosen, the construction started in 1995.
