3 DAY TERRACOTTA WARRIOR EXPERIENCE This 3 day journey will take us to the ancient walled city of Xi an. Here we experience the mystery and wonder of the biggest discovery in Chinese history: the Terracotta Warriors. This is the perfect opportunity to discover China s unique and cultural heritage. This once in a lifetime trip includes a visit to the original City Wall, iconic Xi an buildings, and the Great Mosque. This will be an experience talked about for years to come. ITINERARY 1 We depart from our accommodation in Beijing and fly to Xi an. We then transfer to our Hotel where we are able to relax or explore the nearby neighbourhood of Xi an at leisure. Tonight we get a good night rest and look forward to the busy exciting day ahead. (B) Today, we rise early and have a good breakfast. We then set off to uncover the mystery of the life size Terracotta Army, the eternal guards of Emperor Qin Shihuang's tomb. Later, we make our way to Wild Goose Pagoda, where we enjoy time to stroll along the City Wall and visit the Great Mosque. (B, L) Today after breakfast, there is time to shop and relax in our historical surroundings. We transfer early afternoon to the airport for our internal flight back to Beijing. From Beijing we connect to our flight back home. TERRICOTTA WARRIORS AND GIANT PANDAS This 5 day extension is an exciting combination of Chinese culture and wildlife. After a visit to the imposing Terracotta Army in ancient Xi an we travel to Chengdu, in the South-West part of China, to encounter the world s largest Panda reserve. This experience is truly unique to China and not to be missed! ITINERARY 2 We depart from our accommodation in Beijing and fly to Xi an. We then transfer to our Hotel where we have a chance to relax or explore the nearby neighbourhood of Xi an at leisure. Tonight we get a good nights rest and look forward to the busy exciting day ahead. (B) DAY 4 Today is an excitingly rare opportunity to visit the Giant Panda Research Centre. This special encounter allows us to observe these magnificent creatures as they have never been seen before. Afterwards, we have a chance to visit Marquis Wu Shrine and Jinli Old Street before returning to the hotel in the evening. (B, L) DAY 5 We enjoy a free morning for some last minute shopping before transferring to the airport for our internal flight to Beijing where we connect to our flight back to the UK. (B) Today, we depart Xi an and fly to Chengdu, a city located in the South-West of China. Once we have arrived, we transfer to our hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of the city. (B) 2016: 985 per person on a twin share basis. 4
3 DAY SHANGHAI EXPERIENCE From the streets of the Zhujiajiao Ancient City to the view from the Shanghai Tower; Shanghai offers its visitors a unique chance to experience the mix of traditional and the modern, the West and the Orient, from the old generation to the new. This is a truly unique opportunity to visit the Temple of the Giant Jade Buddha, trawl through the Chinese markets, and float above the City in the Oriental Pearl Tower. This diverse urban hub is the perfect way to end to our Chinese adventure. ITINERARY 3 This morning we take the Bullet train from Beijing and arrive at the cultural capital of China; Shanghai. We spend the first part of the day visiting the Jade Buddha Temple. Afterwards we travel 468 metres high to experience Shanghai at our feet. The Oriental Pearl Tower offers the unique chance to stand atop the glass bottom observation deck and are able to enjoy the panoramic view from the streets of Shanghai to the Yangtze River far in the distance. (B) 2016: 650 per person on a twin share basis After spending the previous day at exhilarating heights we are transferred to the Yuyuan Gardens and nearby beautiful water town of Zhujiajiang. We spend the day exploring the historical waterways that interweave throughout the small city by boat. As we travel along the river we are able to absorb the tranquil environment of the surrounding mountains and willow trees, as well as the traditional Chinese architecture. There is no better way to spend our last few days in China than relishing in the traditional Chinese culture and beauty. (B, L) After browsing the shops and enjoying the buzz of the city we say goodbye to Shanghai and transfer back to Beijing for our connecting flight back to the UK.
