Faced with constant changes, whether from external factors, such as constantly changing regulations and political influences, or from changes to the client landscape, with an evolving and ageing population, adviser today, more than ever, are demonstrating their ability to successfully adapt and prosper. Supporting the ongoing development and training of the firms we serve remains of paramount importance to all of us at SimplyBiz. We strongly believe that you should have access to the very best support and it is this belief which drives our events and training programme. 2017 saw more events and more attendees than ever before as we responded to industry challenges and adviser needs, putting on over 350 face-to-face events across the country, covering an array of topics. In 2018, we will be strengthening and broadening our event schedule even further. Our Learning and Development Events will continue to be the cornerstone of our programme, offering you an holistic day of financial services education and training at over 20 venues up and down the UK. These are supplemented by our Investment Forums, which provide the ideal learning opportunity for those advising on clients savings and investments. As well as our core events, we continue to provide access to specialist learning and support which, as well as traditional events, will include a number of hands-on workshops this year. To complement our face-to-face events, we continue to innovate and provide access to distance learning through our Advice Shows and webinars. These ensure you have access to support that is right up-to-date as the world of financial services evolves. In addition, we know that there is very little value in sessions which are promotions or pushes for products. That s why, before you see a single session at any of our events, we undertake months of work in advance, analysing your feedback from previous rounds and building an agenda which we feel will best deliver the information relevant to your business, in the most interesting and engaging way possible. We then work alongside our partners to design the content and flow of each session and interact with key people from within The SimplyBiz Group to ensure a range of specialist perspectives on the day. Whilst we have an events team which is solely dedicated to ensuring that your experience as an attendee at any one of our meetings is satisfactory, dozens of the Group team are involved at some level in maintaining the relevance, technical accuracy and high quality of our events programme. The majority of our events qualify for structured CPD, with the others providing the opportunity to build up your unstructured hours. When structured CPD is available, we ensure that learning objectives and a set of questions to demonstrate your understanding of the areas covered are provided, giving you the means to easily track and evidence your structured learning. In order to demonstrate how seriously we take the matter of our accreditation, we work very closely with both the CII and LIBF every year to make sure that our schedule and processes go above and beyond their requirements. This means that when it s time to renew your Statement of Professional Standing, the accredited body that is reviewing your record is likely to recognise that CPD collected through
