July E-Traveler The Insider's Guide to Mt Washington Valley Anything is possible!. It's now officially summer in Mt Washington Valley, and that means the "living is easy" as they say. We're basking in the summer beauty of the White Mountains offering seemingly endless recreational opportunities. In addition, there's plenty of family fun available through Mt Washington Valley's attractions, along with golf at 12 Mt Washington Valley courses. Whether you're into bicycling or back-to-school shopping it's waiting for you in Mt Washington Valley. As we say here "Anything is Possible"! Schools out for summer so the focus for this month's E-Traveler is on family fun. Event of the Month Independence Day Celebrations in Mt Washington Valley Plan to spend July 4 th in Mt Washington Valley as a full line up of activities is in store at North Conway's Schouler Park starting at 1:30pm. The fun begins with a good ol' fashioned parade and continues throughout the day with a packed schedule of live music, dance and theater. The festivities conclude at 9:30pm with a spectacular fireworks display. There'll be plenty of food available from vendors. All entertainment is free of charge. Entertainment is presented by the Conway Parks and Recreation Department.
Page 2 of 5 The annual Jackson Village Independence Day fireworks show will take place at dusk on Friday, July 1. Fireworks will be shot off the Wentworth Golf Course greens, making viewing easy anywhere in Jackson Village. The Jackson Fire Dept. will have ice cream, popcorn, glow necklaces and balloons on hand to add to the festivities. Zeb's General Store Celebrates 20 years Zeb's General Store is a virtual emporium of creativity from the largest collection of New England made specialty foods to soaps, lotions, books, toys, pet items, artwork and photography and more. Plan to visit North Conway Village July 9-16 when a different event and giveaway will occur each day to celebrate the 20 th birthday of the store. From birthday cake, hats and balloons to popcorn, wooden nickels and candy bars, customers will celebrate 20 years of Zeb's history with giveaways from Zeb's July 9-16 th. Restaurants of the Month: Spotlight on Family Dining Finding something everyone in the family can enjoy is not hard when you dine in the Mt. Washington Valley. From great pubs to pizza, Italian or Mexican everyone's tastes in food will be satisfied. If you're looking for a wide variety of nachos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, pastas and seafood look no farther than Horsefeather's located in the heart of North Conway. How about a steak? Stop into Merlino's Steakhouse for the finest in Certified Angus Beef. If you're feeling like pizza make sure you go to Flatbread's for mouthwatering wood fired pizza made with organic ingredients, free range chicken and nitrate free meats. This year make sure to bring the whole family to Story Land, celebrating 58 years of making fantasy come alive or Santa's Village offering holiday fun all summer long. Get outside and enjoy the summer with activities like ropes courses and zip lines at Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park, Monkey Trunks, Wildcat, and Bretton Woods. For adventure seekers it's White Lake Speedway for gokarting or Attitash for mountain biking, the alpine slide and the mountain coaster and water park. Don't forget about the young ones when the full size Thomas the Tank Engine comes to the Conway Scenic Railroad July 8-10 th and July 15-17 th. Visit the top of Mount Washington via The Cog Railway or guided van tours up the Mt. Washington Auto Road.
