2 Background OCR Transport (OCR) was formed in 1990 by Graham and Susan Ambrose as a partnership. OCR holds a Standard International Operator Licence which authorises the operation of 40 vehicles. Graham Ambrose holds an International CPC and is the Nominated Transport Manager. You were recruited a year ago to fill the post of General Manager of OCR with a view to Graham and Susan gradually reducing their day to day involvement with the business. OCR operates from premises owned by Graham and Susan. This depot is adjacent to the local bus station in Denton, which is in local authority ownership. Denton is in the Western Traffic Area. OCR is in the process of purchasing RSA Tours, a sole trader operating five coaches under a Standard National Operator Licence from a site in Milton Keynes, in the Eastern Traffic Area. OCR will continue to operate five coaches from the Milton Keynes site. OCR uses only its own locally-based drivers. Current fleet Twenty six, 44-seat buses, used exclusively for the operation of registered local bus services. Four, 80-seat double deck buses used for school contracts and occasional short distance private hire. Three, 57-seat coaches used on limited stop express services. Five, 53-seat coaches used on a mixture of private hire, excursion and tour work. Two, 16-seat minibuses used on private hire and school contracts. Maintenance All vehicle maintenance is carried out in-house, in a recently modernised workshop at the depot. Current operations Local Bus services OCR operates a network of bus services based in Denton, and all have one common terminal at Denton Bus Station All services operate Monday to Saturday throughout the year, excluding eight bank holidays.
