Detailed Itinerary Day 1 - Antananarivo Meet by our representative on your arrival at Ivato airport and transfer to the hotel. Night at hotel - BB Day 2 - Antananarivo - Ankarana Breakfast and transfer for your flight to Diego Suarez. Meet on arrival and departure towards Ankarana. Appreciate the sceneries along the road before diving into the heart of the Antakarana culture. The Ankarana is a 35km long karstic massif that looks like hundreds of needles and limestone peaks rising towards the sky. The Canyons, forests, caves and underground rivers crisscross this National Park which also home of endemic flora and fauna. Lunch on the spot, then you 'll head to your hotel. You will be warmly hosted and will be amazed to discover Iharana Bush Camp lying on the edge of a lake, in front of the Tsingy massif, a 'stone thrown away' from the Mahavavy river. The natural site is of a very big wealth and a beauty oneof-a-kind. You are in the middle of nature, far away from televisions, air-conditioning and telephones... This camp favors the charm and the authenticity with a minimum impact on the nature. Here, the synthetic tents are replaced by magnificent natural structures in cob. The rooms cabanas whose organic architecture is inspired by the Malagasy traditional housing environment. The association of the know-how, the crafts, the art and the materials gives this camp a very original character, in complete harmony with its environment.
Day 3 - Ankarana Full day exploring the Ankarana National park, western Tsingy. This reserve covers 18000 Ha area. Discover the wild beauty of Nature with a visit that takes you from caves, famous for their awesome rooms and their surprising roc formations, to beautiful canyons, home of many species of lemurs, chameleons and birds. The sceneries are impressive; their beauty is truly breathtaking the park is a fantastic space of hikes and shelter endemic flora and fauna. Day 4 - Ankarana - Red Tsingy / Diego Suarez (Antsiranana) Breakfast and drive back to Diego Suarez ; on the way visit to the Red Tsingy a version of these surprising trainings of coral origin, certainly less impressive than Tsingy of Bemaraha, but more easily accessible. The Red Tsingy, a true sculpture of stones, is interrupted with unsuspecting canyons, covered with forest and contains a network of caves and underground rivers. Picnic lunch. Day 5 - Diego-Suarez (Antsiranana) - Amber Mountain / Joffre Ville After the breakfast, visit the Amber Mountain National Park created in 1958 to protect a flora and a fauna one-of-a-kind. More than 180 km2 area the park is situated in a volcanic set of the Quaternary and is decorated with lakes, with craters and with waterfalls. The Amber mountain peaks in 1475 m. On the way, you will see Joffre Ville which was, during the French colonization, the holiday resort of the servicemen who appreciated the fresh air of the heights. Picnic lunch, then walk in the park crossing the botanical path, the big waterfall (80 m of top), the waterfall Antakarana and the Camp of the dogfishes. The flora of this rain forest is luxuriant and varied : big endemic trees, epiphytic plants, tree ferns, pandanus, ficuses, araucarias, palm-tree, healing plants, orchids 1020 species of plants were listed there. The fauna is also exceptional with several varieties of birds, chameleons and surprising batrachians, as well as 7 species of lemurs of which 5 diurnal, the lemur with fork of the Amber Mountain (Phaner electromontis), the crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus) and Sanford's lemur (Eulemur fulvus sanfordi). Arriving at the hotel in the afternoon. Day 6 - Diégo-Suarez (Antsiranana) Day dedicated to the visit of Three Bays, magnificent and little frequented corner. White sand beaches. Three bays is a chain of the Bay of Sakalava, the Bay of dunes and Bay of Pigeons. Each bay is so beautiful as the others, turquoise sea lined with long white sand beaches. Two nice islands in which we can reach on foot by low tide. Often windy, the Sakalava Bay is the hangout of "Kite surf" premises which burst waves. Picnic lunch included. Day 7 - Diego-Suarez (Antsiranana) Breakfast then departure for a full day excursion. Drive along the beautiful coastal road revealing the bay of Diégo and the island of Nosy Lonjo with its famous "sugar-loaf", up to the fishermen's small village of Ramena and his immense white sand beach. From there embark aboard a power-driven boat for a memorable excursion to the Emerald Sea, a lagoon like a natural aquarium in a turquoise waters. Free time for walking along fine sand beaches, bathing or snorkeling in a clear water amidts of tropical multicolored fishes. It is not rare to cross sea turtles or manta rays. Plan beachwear, hat, sunscreen camera! Typical local flavor picnic lunch with fresh fishfoodwill be served on one of the Virgin Islands. Return by boat to Ramena and by car up to the hotel. Arrival to Diego towards the end of the afternoon. Night at the hotel - LDBB Day 8 - Diego-Suarez (Antsiranana) - Antananarivo Breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Night hotel - BB Day 9 - Antananarivo Today you may have a city tour and visit of the handcraft market of Digue depending on your flight time; lunch at a local restaurant (own account). Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
