We can be proud that the Boy Scouts of America is alive and well in our county. This is our opportunity to not only provide a great program for our Cubs and Scouts, but also show all Long Island how strong Scouting continues to be. I hope every pack, troop, crew, and post will choose to participate. The enclosed booklet has been prepared to give you all the information you need to have a great experience at the Jamboree. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR TROOP AND CREWS 1. Site assignments will be made on a first received-first assigned basis. 2. Size of site will be determined by the number of campers paid for. 3. Check-in Packets will be available at the council service center after MAY 15, 2017. 4. Check-in Packets will contain the following items: -Site assignments for Webelos Dens. -1 Car Pass to unloading Area per unit for overnight campers for equipment vehicle. -Wristbands for all participants Wristbands are entry passes to all activities. No one will be permitted to participate in Activities without a wristband. Maps for each participant In order to facilitate speedy check-in at the CAMP-O-Ree, it is IMPERATIVE that Units pick up their Check-in packets prior to arriving at the EVENT,
Check-in Procedure for Troops and Crews Arrive at EISENHOWER PARK, EAST MEADOW, NEW YORK as a Unit. Check-in will begin Friday MAY 19, at 2:00 PM. If unit has already picked up Check-in Packet at the council service center, proceed with unloading. If unit has not received Check-in Packet, Unit Leader MUST go to Registration Area to pick it up. (This is necessary for Item #4.) Only ONE VEHICLE per unit will be allowed ONE TRIP at a time to un- loading area. This vehicle MUST have on board the Unit Car Pass that is included in the Check-in Packet. Pass will be collected when all your unloading is complete at unloading area. All other vehicles will be directed to the parking lot. All additional gear (both personal and unit) must be transported on foot from the parking lot to campsite. Unit Leaders must check in at the Registration Area and turn in roster of all over- night campers, youth as well as adults. Any additional campers may be paid for at this time. There will be no refunds. Each unit must have complete B.S.A. part A & C of the Health Forms on site for ALL overnight campers. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR LEADERS MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: All overnight participants (adults as well as youth) are required to have on site a completed and signed B.S.A. part A & C of the Medical Form. One blank form is included in this packet, photocopy as needed for your unit. DISABILITIES: Any special accommodations required by your unit must be made known to Council Office prior to check -in at the Jamboree. INSURANCE: Standard event insurance will be provided to all registered participant at the Camp-O-Ree. The cost of this insurance is included in the jamboree fee. VISITORS: Visitors are welcome at The Camp-O-Ree on Saturday, MAY 20, 2017. However, the activities are restricted to registered participants with wristbands. It is therefore, Important that all attendees register to participate. Visitor may observe the activities, have a picnic and watch the evening show. NO CARS WILL BE ADMITTED INTO THE CAMP AFTER 5:00 PM SATURDAY EVENING. LOST & FOUND: There will be a Lost and Found located at the Camp-O-Ree Headquarters. To prevent loss of valuables, items should be marked with name, district, troop and home address. RELIGIOUS SERVICES: Religious Services will be held on Saturday evening. Please consult schedule for exact times. Jewish Scouts are required to bring yarmulkes or head covering for services. POLICING OF GROUNDS: The cooperation of all Scouts and Leaders is requested to see that all trash is deposited in the containers provided. Constant leadership in the regard will be needed to prevent a major problem. Every Scout and Leader should make it a practice and a tradition that no one passes by trash always pick it up and put in a container. AMERICAN FLAGS and TROOP FLAGS: All camping units are request to bring American and troop flags for the Opening Ceremony. POLICY ON ALCOHOL and DRUGS: The use of alcohol beverage, non-prescribed drugs or controlled substances will not be permitted at the Jamboree. POLICY ON FIREARMS: No firearms permitted at the Jamboree
