NOTICE OF NIQS BIENNIAL CONFERENCE AND NIQS BIENNIAL GENERAL MEETING To: AAQS Council Members AAQS Institution Members AAQS Practice Members Dear All, THE NIQS BIENNIAL CONFERENCE AND NIQS BIENNIAL GENERAL MEETING IS HOLDING IN ABUJA, FCT, NIGERIA ON WEDNESDAY 15 TH SATURDAY 18 TH NOVEMBER, 2017 Herewith relevant information: 1. Who should attend the NIQS Biennial Conference The Biennial Conference is open to all Quantity Surveyors, Cost Engineers, and Project Managers from all countries of the world. Whilst the NIQS Biennial General Meeting holding in the morning of Saturday 18 th November, 2017 is for all registered members of the NIQS only. 2. Confirmed attendees A list of confirmed attendees will be issued in due course. 3. Notification of attendance It is essential that all intending international participants at the Biennial Conference notify the NIQS well in advance should they wish to attend in order that the necessary preparation/arrangements may be made. 4. Venue and hotel bookings The venue for both the NIQS Biennial Conference and Biennial General Meeting is the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Plot 496 Ahmadu Bello Way, Gwarinpa Expressway, Deeper Life Junction (Near Next Cash and Carry), Kado, Abuja. The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) propose that delegates can stay at the hotels nearby the venue where the meeting will take place as all the above mentioned hotels have been providing the corporate rates for the delegates. Delegates who may wish that the NIQS could help in reserving a hotel are encouraged to inform the NIQS in ample time indicating the type and rates. Transport from and to the airport The International airport is situated approximately 45Km from the venue where the Conference and Meeting is to be held. The duration for travelling to and from the venue is approximately 40 minutes depending on traffic. The AAQS and/or the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors should not be required to deal with visa applications other than providing a letter of invitation where required. Health Nigeria is a high malaria prone country. The government of Nigeria requires proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival if you are traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever. 11. Those wishing to extend their stay Excursion can be arranged for but prior notification is required. The tentative package and the arrangements for the excursion to be provided in due course. 12. Dress Code The dress code for the NIQS Biennial Conference is smart casual (no ties required). The dress code for the dinners is smart casual.
