Here are some useful information about IDO Event CITY. Genoa is an Italian town of 598 730 inhabitants, Capital of the Liguria Region. It is the sixth Italian City by population, third of Northern Italy, and fifth by economic movement, and is part of the Milan-Turin-Genoa industrial triangle. Genoa city is one of the 15 Italian metropolitan cities, whose agglomeration has more than 800.000 people and is also the heart of the metropolitan area of central Liguria which incorporates a natural hinterland for a total of over 1.510.000 people. Thanks to the Ligurian Sea, its history is connected to the naval trade. Famous, among other things, for having given birth to Cristoforo Colombo, Giuseppe Mazzini and Goffredo Mameli. Its harbor is the most important in Italy. The symbol of the city is its lighthouse, that you can see between the districts of San Teodoro and Sampierdarena, on the rocky spur that closed the disappeared hill of San Benigno, best known as Lanterna. The city is traditionally represented by the Cross of San Giorgio, in the coat-of-arms shown by two griffins. For over eight centuries the capital of the republic of Genoa, the city has been mentioned with proud and bombastic names such as La Superba, La Dominante, La Dominante dei mari and La Repubblica dei Magnifici. It was the home of Expo '92, the home of the controversial G8 summit of 2001 and in 2004 it was the European Capital of the Culture. In its historic center, numerous buildings, best known as Palazzi dei Rolli, have been declared UNESCO World Heritage. In Genoa there are some of the most beautiful European Buildings, authentic treasures, often still private homes, to be found and appreciate both in the historic center of Genoa and in the Riviera. In the Palazzo San Giorgio takes place the Banco di San Giorgio, the most ancient bank in the world. History hands down that Napoleone Bonaparte repeatedly plundered it to establish the Bank of France. While keeping its industrial tradition alive, it is a perfect tourist, cultural, scientific, musical and university center. The Ligurian capital is also known in the area of scientific research and technology with well-known centers of excellence, in publishing, telecommunications and sport matters. COMPETITION HALL. PalaRomanzi, best known as PalaCus, is the multi-sports hall of the Genoa CUS. Is located in Valletta Puggia. It hosts, among other things, all the home games of the Basketball and Volleyball teams. The structure also hosts six tennis courts, three indoor and three outdoor. There are numerous sports indoor, including aerobics, fitness, martial arts and bridge too, and naturally other sports to be for young people such as athletics, volleyball, basketball and tennis. HOW TO REACH IT To reach the PalaRomanzi the best solution is the black line nr 18 till Via San Martino. Then walking for 100 meters, turn right and take the steps to via Papigliano. Go on till Valletta Puggia where the university complex and the PalaRomanzi take place.
