Gently downhill, mostly with a helpful tailwind, you are experiencing the impressive river-meanders of the Donauschlinge ( Great Loop ) and enjoying the gorgeous landscape of the legendary Wachau with its castles and fortresses. Then Vienna, rich of architecture, a firework of places of interests! A city, hardly to describe you have to see and feel it! Sights like St. Stephen s Cathedral, the Town Hall and the world s oldest Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad) are easy to reach during a wonderful sightseeing tour by bike. At the Naschmarkt (famous food market), a stroll will become a cultural and culinary adventure. You can also relax at any of the cozy coffee bars or at a typical Viennese wine tavern. Your bike tour through various countries is also a culinary expedition through the diversity of the national and the regional cuisine; in the evening a musician will perform for dance!! The ship possesses a Restaurant, a Panorama-Bar, a salon as well as a broad sun deck with comfortable deck-chairs. Books and magazines of our library provide relaxation and reading pleasure, parlour games offer all kinds of disport. Our dignified furnished cabins are cosy, rustic, approx. size 8-10 m2 and equipped with either 2 adjoined beds or with bunk beds, en suite (shower and toilet), TV, radio and air condition. 3- Bed-Cabin: Wiendeck: 2 adjoined beds and 1 upper bed; Linzdeck: 3 adjoined beds. The windows can be opened in all cabins on Wiendeck and in the bunk bed cabins amidships on Linzdeck. Danube Impressions 2012 page 4 of 8 02.09.2011 ITINERARY Day 1: Passau The "Bishop City" close to the Bavarian/Austrian border is also known as the City of three Rivers. Boarding time is at 5 p.m. In the evening you will enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner with live music. Day 2: Passau Danube loop Linz, bike tour approx. 50 km Sightseeing tour with the City-Express in Linz (optional, approx. ½ h) Downstream, the way leads you to pretty villages amid natural landscape. Need a boost? Try some of the special cordials and liqueurs in the Trappist monastery in Engelhartszell. Supposedly they have special healing power. Relax on the sun deck after a successful day while the ship takes you through the romantic Schlögener loop, where the river makes a very abrupt 180 degree turn. And after dinner, ride on the bright yellow City-Express (optional) and discover Linz, the capital of upper Austria. Day 3: Linz Grein, bike tour approx. 60 km Visit of Grein Castle (optional) Today's bike tour takes you directly along the Danube where you have enough time to enjoy the natural state of the meadow landscape. The Celtic town Mitterkirchen gives you an insight of the past. The alternative route Clam Castle through the beautiful back country of the Strudengau is slightly hilly, but a fantastic landscape. Grein is the destination of today's stage, place of Austria s oldest city-theatre and the Castle of Grein. (optional) Day 4: Grein Melk Tulln, biketour approx. 51 km Today's stage is marked by a diversified landscape. At the beginning there is the Strudengau a narrow point of the Danube which used to be notorious amongst skippers. The valley expands from Persenbeug and the bike tour leads you further to Melk with its gorgeous baroque monastery of the Benedictine brethren. On deck you enjoy the sunset and the beautiful evening illumination of the Wachau. Today's final destination is Tulln, famous for its numerous market gardens. Today s stage is marked by a diversified landscape. Day 5: Tulln Vienna, bike tour approx. 35 km Vienna city tour by bus (optional) Right in front of Vienna s entrance, embedded in a breathtaking landscape, the monastery of Klosterneuburg is situated. You can already see the cupola of this 900 year old, baroque building from a distance. Kahlenbergerdorf with it s wine taverns is only a hop from the shipping pier and definitely worth a visit. After a stroll through the vineyards, you can enjoy the panoramic view over Vienna. During the city tour (optional) by bus in the afternoon you will pass most of the numerous and famous sights. You can visit St. Stephens Cathedral and have a short guided walking tour though the old town center. Day 6: Vienna (day of rest), Vienna city tour by bike (approx. 3,5 h, optional), Waltz- & Operetta concert in the Imperial Palace (optional) You should be sure to see the most famous places of interest like the Prater, the St. Stephens Cathedral and the Hofburg. The gorgeous boulevard "Ringstraβe" with the Burgtheater, the State Opera House and the town hall takes you back to the past. There is enough time in the afternoon to stroll or visit one of the famous Viennese coffee bars. The evening ends impressively with a Waltz and Opera concert at the Hofburg (optional), or at a wine tavern. Day 7: Wachau Krems - Emmersdorf, bike leg approx. 36 km Your last biking day is a special highlight! Admits small dreamy towns, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins this hilly landscape enchants everybody. You'll be biking on cloud nine! In Weißenkirchen (possibility for a wine-tasting optional) you will find comfy wine taverns right along the bike path. You owe it to yourself to take a break! After a ceremonial gala dinner, lots of fun and entertainment can be experienced during a crew show. Day 8: Passau Every journey draws to an end. Once again you enjoy on deck the first sunbeams and the peaceful silence of the Danube Valley. Take a last sight at the Schlögener Schlinge (= Great Loop ) before you arrive relaxed at Passau. Arrival: approx 12:00 am, disembarkation half an hour later. We suggest for continuing connections for your journey home from 2 p.m. on.

Taste some Austrian delicacies: at an Upper-Austrian must-tavern you ll try sweet and bitter must; at a wine-tavern in the world-famous Wachau-region you savour a small variety of regional wine-specialities. You experience the Upper-Austrian capital Linz on an excursion train. During a guided tour by bike you ll pass by numerous of the sights of Vienna the city of Waltz. A visit of the monastery of Melk also an unforgettable experience. GENERAL INFORMATION Our bike tours are unescorted. All mileages are approximate distances of recommended routes. Please be aware that the cabin storage space is very limited. In case of flood or low tide, the shipping company reserves the right to bridge parts of passages by buses. In extreme situations, the shipping company reserves the right to cancel the journey on short notice. No legal right shall be constituted of both situations. (Water level is force majeure). The same applies for officially ordered - previously not announced - repair work on locks or bridges or in case of undeserved breakdown of engine or power unit. Please be aware that this ship, the MS THEODOR KÖRNER, like all other ships on the Danube, is not only your hotel but also a machine, working with engine power also during the night. Especially crossing locks and bridges - and the preparation work - may cause noise. If you are sensitive to noises, please bring your own ear plugs. In Austria it is mandatory for children under 12 yrs to wear a helmet when on a bike. Danube Impressions 2012 page 8 of 8 02.09.2011 Appendix: Additional Travel Constraints, Bike and Ship tour MS THEODOR KÖRNER We reserve the right to augment the advertised and booking-confirmed prices in the case of increased operation expenses and taxes, including harbour and docking fees, increased fuel prices, as well as currency exchange rates as followed: a. If the price increase is specific to one guest in a cabin, the price of that cabin may correspondingly increase. b. In the case that the entire trip s operating costs are increased, the costs will be shared and divided equally by each cabin, for the price of each cabin, and increases accordingly. If our harbour and docking fees increase after the reservation has been done, we will increase the price of the trip accordingly, by the proportional amount. A price increase will only occur if there are more than 4 months between the booking and the trip departure, and the increased expenses have not yet been taken into account, and were unforeseeable at the time of reservation. In the case of retroactive price increase, we must immediately contact you. Prices will never be increased within 20 days before departure. If prices increase 5% or more, you have the option to cancel your booking free of charge or to change your booking to a trip of at least equal value, if we are in any position to do so. We kindly ask to claim your, previously stated, rights concerning price increases immediately after being informed about them.
