Safari starts in Nairobi, Kenya Arrive at Nairobi International and transfer by road to Ole Sereni City Hotel. Nairobi Ole Sereni City Hotel 1 Night Included: All meals, local beverages. Nairobi Nairobi is famous as the only city in the world to host a game reserve in its center, The Nairobi National Park. Occasionally called the Green city for this reason it is a metropolitan center with a green core. Founded by the British in the late 1800s Nairobi was a colonial hotspot for the coffee, tea and sisal industries. Since the 1960s the city s population has expanded six-fold to over 3 million inhabitants and it is now a hotspot for African businesses and hosts the UN Environment Programme. O le Sereni City Hotel is the only city hotel in the world that overlooks a game reserve. Your room overlooks the national park with a balcony allowing you a private space to sit and enjoy the view. From your king bed to the bathrobes you will find the African themed décor came at no cost to comfort. There is a pool, restaurant and bar that overlook the park and there is no better place for a sundowner. Ole Sereni City Hotel Website: http://www.ole-sereni.com Page 3

Road transfer to airport & light aircraft transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara followed by a road transfer to Governor s Il Moran Camp. Masai Mara Governor s Il Moran Camp 3 Nights Included: All meals, laundry service, daily activities, private guide* & private vehicle* (*with private tour option). Masai Mara National Reserve The jewel in the crown of Kenyan wildlife tourism, situated in the South-west of the country and covering an area of 1 510 square km, the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breath-taking vistas, abundant wildlife, and endless plains. It shares a border with Tanzania s Serengeti National Park and is essentially a continuation of this park, forming the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The Masai Mara National Reserve was named for the Maasai people who inhabit the area, and for the Mara River, which flows through this great reserve. It is this winding river that plays host to spectacular crossings of wildebeest and other migratory species during the annual great migration. This wildlife spectacle is considered one of the highlights of a visit to East Africa. At this time, nearly 2 million animals cram the open spaces and it becomes one of the finest game-viewing areas on the continent. However, even after the large migratory herds have left for their calving grounds in the Serengeti of neighbouring Tanzania, the resident game still provides excellent viewing and photographic opportunities. Activities include game viewing, hot air balloon trips and Maasai cultural visits. Governors Il M oran Camp is for those who want that extra bit of luxury. Widely regarded as one of the finest camps in the Masai Mara, this small and intimate camp comprises only 10 luxurious safari tents nestled under large trees in a superb location on the banks of the Mara River. Governor s IL Moran Camp Website: http://www.governorscamp.com/property-descriptions/governors-camps-masai-mara/il-moran-camp Page 4

Light aircraft transfer from Masai Mara to Amboseli National Park followed by a road transfer to Tortilis Camp. Amboseli National Park Tortilis Camp 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide* & private vehicle* (*with private tour option). Amboseli National Park This small reserve (approximately 40 000 hectares / 100 000 acres) is Kenya s most visited wildlife area. The park is famed for its elephant population that has the distinction of being the most researched population in Africa. Much of Amboseli incorporates the dried up bed of a Pleistocene lake, with lush deep fresh water springs in the middle of the park a haven for hippos and birdlife and a playground for elephants. The park has spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro (the roof of Africa), the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and the highest peak on the African continent. Kilimanjaro is an extinct volcano with two peaks (Mwenzi and Kibo), and at 19,340ft (5,894m) rises dramatically out of the 4000ft (1,200m) Amboseli plains. The glaciers on the mountain are slowly disappearing with global warming, but it remains snow capped as any precipitation on the mountain settles as snow. Despite being in Tanzania, the best views of the mountain are from Amboseli, with Tortilis Camp on a south-west hillside facing the mountain, having the most dramatic views of all. Activities include game drives and guided bush walks (with Maasai guides) and cultural visits to local Maasai homesteads. Tortilis Camp is named after the Tortilis Acacia (the Umbrella Thorn Tree), and was the first boutique eco-lodge in Kenya, a charming rustic tented camp built into the side of a hill, facing Kilimanjaro. 16 Spacious tents fan out down paths, each with an elegant en-suite with a sunken shower and double wash basins. The tents are set on wooden decks each with a verandah with table and chairs and a daybed. The public areas comprise a large bar, separate dining room, a reception area and a shop. There is also a large pool with a furnished terrace in a quiet location. Tortilis Camp Website : http://tortilis.com/ Page 5

Light aircraft transfer from Amboseli to Nairobi, followed by another light aircraft transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport, Tanzania where you will transfer by road to your lodge. Arusha Legendary Lodge 1 Night Included: All meals, local beverages Arusha The attractive little town of Arusha is situated beneath the towering peaks of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro. Renowned as the safari capital of Tanzania, it offers a plethora of attractions and adventures. The town has numerous first-class restaurants, bars, markets, and craft centres and is the ideal place to spend a few relaxing days at the beginning or end of a safari. Legendary Lodge Located in the tropical gardens of a working coffee farm just outside Arusha, Legendary Lodge is an escape to paradise and the perfect place for weary travellers to acclimatize before embarking on their safari after arriving from abroad. With stunning views over Mount Meru, this boutique lodge comprises six garden cottages, each individually decorated with a unique blend of African art and old colonial-style furnishings. Legendary Lodge Website: http://www.legendaryexpeditions.com Page 6

Light aircraft transfer from Arusha to Ndutu airstrip followed by a road transfer to Serengeti Under Canvas. Ndutu, Southern Serengeti Serengeti Under Canvas 3 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide* & private vehicle* (*with private tour option). Serengeti National Park! The Serengeti National Park, meaning endless plains in the Maasai language, is undoubtedly one of the world s most celebrated wilderness areas. It is Tanzania s oldest game reserve, renowned as the site of the annual Great Migration, when an estimated two million animals (mostly wildebeest) migrate to Kenya s Masai Mara Game Reserve. This epic, seasonal journey is a deeply moving experience and a wonderful photographic subject. Visitors to the park can roam its sprawling plains on exhilarating game drives or hop into a hot-air balloon for a once-in-a-lifetime wilderness adventure. Serengeti Under Canvas is a luxurious semi-permanent tented camp that moves around the Serengeti year-round to bring guests within range of the Great Migration. This intimate camp features just eight safari tents, and is carefully positioned in exclusive semi-permanent campsites. This is the ultimate in luxury camping with each luxury en-suite mobile tent boasting a comfortable double bed, bathroom with separate toilet and bucket shower. The guest areas comprise comfortable tents for dining, meeting for a pre-dinner drink, or just for whiling the time away between safaris complete with private butler service, delicious home-cooked meals, and traditional bush dinners served under the stars. Serengeti Under Canvas Website: http://www.andbeyond.com/serengeti-under-canvas/ Page 7

Light aircraft transfer from southern Serengeti to Mahale Mountains, followed by dhow transfer to camp. Mahale Mountains National Park Greystoke Mahale 3 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, laundry service, daily activities, private guide* (*with private tour option) Mahale Mountains National Park Covering approximately 1,600 sq km of mountainous terrain and with the western boundary being the shore of Lake Tanganyika, the park is thought to be home to an estimated 600 chimps and is considered one of the finest areas to view chimps in the wild with the towering hills and majestic lakeside scenery adding to the spectacle. The chimps may be observed in their natural habitat in groups of up to 30. Besides chimps, the park is also home to a number of other primate species, antelope and bushpigs and the lake contains hippos and crocodile. Birdlife is also abundant. Lake Tanganyika is the largest Rift Lake in Africa and the longest freshwater lake in the world (420 miles long). It is also the world s second deepest (4820 feet) and second largest lake by volume, accounting for 17% of all the world s freshwater. Its crystal clear waters complement the lush greenery of the adjacent Mahale Mountains. It must be noted that a chimp sighting is not guaranteed, whilst one day they could be right behind camp, the next they could be high in the mountains. Trackers will go out every morning to locate the chimps and then radio in their position. The unpredictability of their movements mean that hikes (done at a pace comfortable for all) can last anywhere from 1-5 hours. One chimp trek is offered per full day and the time spent with the chimps is 1 hour only! Besides the chimp trekking, activities on offer include fishing or kayaking along the lakeshore, dhow sunset cruises and gentle forest hikes for smaller animals and birds can be undertaken. There are no roads and therefore game drives are not offered. Greystoke M ahale This small, intimate camp is a fusion of bush and island in the way it has been designed. The 6 beautiful bandas (rooms) are placed along the beach of the lake and the open fronts afford spectacular views. Each has been constructed from the timber of old dhows and have an upstairs lounge overlooking the lake and a bathroom with a shower. It is important to know that these rooms are essentially open and relatively safe but there are heavy-duty curtains that can be drawn on front and back at night to make guests feel more secure. The public building has a communal dining table, bar and small lounge / library. There is also a small curio shop and sunset bar on the rocks overlooking the lake. Dhow transfer to the airstrip connecting on a light aircraft transfer to Zanzibar, followed by a road transfer to the resort. Zanzibar Baraza Resort & Spa 2 Nights Included: All meals, local beverages, specific tours, private guide* (*with private tour option) Zanzibar The small island of Zanzibar, more correctly called Unguja, was for most of the 1800s the centre of the international slave trade and an important source of cloves and other spices, in addition to being a launching point for the expeditions onto the dark continent of great explorers such as Livingstone, Speke and Burton. It was also a strategic trade port for many other items, including gold and ivory. It was governed by the Omani Sultans and became a British Protectorate in 1890. The last of the sultans was overthrown in 1964, a month after gaining independence, and shortly afterwards Zanzibar became united with the Mainland of Tanganyika (as it was then called) to become the united Republic of Tanzania. Stone Town, the heart of Zanzibar, is the only functioning historical city in East Africa and is much the same today as it was 200 years ago. A city within a city, Stone Town is the oldest section of Zanzibar Town, and is made up of winding lanes and unique stone houses, many of which feature magnificent carved doors and overhanging fretwork balconies. Sights include: The Hamami Baths, built in 1870, The Africa House Hotel, once the British Club, the house of notorious slave-trader Tippu-Tip, the slave pit, the National Museum, the old Slave Market, the Church of Christ Cathedral (which stands over Page 9

the central whipping block of the slave market), the Livingstone House, the Dhow Harbour, the House of Wonders (the former palace of Sultan Barghash built in 1883), the Jamituru Gardens and night food market, the People's Palace and the Arab Fort. Other sights just outside the city include the Persian Baths of Kidichi, the Maruhubi Palace Ruins, the Bububu railway and the Mangapwani Slave Caves. Baraza Resort & Spa Located along the Bwejuu Paje beach that was named as one of the top 30 in the world by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine, Baraza is Zanzibar s most exclusive boutique resort. A fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian design, this stunning resort evokes the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans. Each of the 30 villas has a large terrace with private plunge pool, bathroom with shower and bath, dressing room, living room with TV and CD player, minibar, and tea & coffee-making facilities. The resort also features a spa, fitness centre and tennis court. Besides the usual island excursions, the resort also offers tours to the local village, dhow cruises, mangrove forest tours and activities such as palm frond weaving and cooking courses. Baraza Resort & Spa Website: http://baraza-zanzibar.com/ Road transfer to Zanzibar Airport followed by light aircraft transfer to Dar es Salaam International Airport. The Safari ends in Dar es Salaam Page 10
