Welcome to the 10 th Jet World Masters in Meiringen! Only a couple of weeks to go! We welcome all competing jet pilots and helpers, their familymembers and supporters, as well as all jet aeromodelling enthusiasts, to the 10 th Jet World Masters, to take place in Switzerland from August 21 to September 1 st, 2013! All documents and more information about the world s most significant and prestigious championship for radio-controlled scale jets are available on. In addition to the Bulletin 0 and Bulletin 1, versions from February 2012 and January 2013, this last informs about the main items of the agenda and contains some additional and updated information to support your participation and your stay in the Meiringen/Haslital region. The official language of the competition and related publications will be English; the website is in English and German. The official currency in Switzerland is Swiss Francs (CHF). Cash in local currency can be obtained through several automatic teller machines (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) in the Hasli Valley and the city of Meiringen. 1. Social Events Orders and payments for the social activities listed below will be handled separately during the arrival/check-in process at the information office at the airfield. The information office is located in the middle of the tarmac area. Vouchers include meals and soft drinks (mineral water). During check-in on your arrival day you can purchase all your vouchers by your Team-Manager in one round. Jury / Judges As assigned by the IJMC Annual Meeting on January 13, 2013, see Bulletin 1 4. Model Crates (Transport and Shipment) All crates should be scheduled for delivery by your own forwarders to Meiringen Air Base no earlier than August 5 and no later than August 16, 2013. The return of the crates to their origins will be exactly the reverse of the original shipment. All return shipping fees with an Air Way Bill (AWB) must be done at the time of your original shipping arrangements at your home country. Please arrange for return pick-up from Meiringen AFB between September 2 nd September 6, 2013. and The model crate shipping labels to Switzerland should read: Given Name, Name of the Pilot National Team of Swiss Air Force Base Meiringen Meiringen Air Base Command Model Storage for Competitors Jet World Masters 2013 3857 Unterbach BE Switzerland A return address label for your model crate must be provided by each pilot at the conclusion of the JWM and affixed to the model crate by the pilot. Shipments by any other means or car/camper/truck must be handled directly by the model owner or pilot. Each pilot should investigate with their own country any advance registration required of the model to ensure there are no import or export issues. The pilot will want to ensure the model can be easily received in his home country on return shipment and not be subjected to a duty and/or tax..0 Page 3 of 11
5. Site Facilities The following facilities will be available at the flying site during the preparation and the competition, see main points on the map on the end of this : The information office is the contact point for Team Managers for all organizational matters, as well as for the purchase of vouchers for social events on August 24./26./29. and 31. Hangar and model storage (shade) with table and power plug 230V a/c power supply at the model storage hangar and preparation zone for each team Preparation hangar/shelter for pilots before practice and competition flying (shade) Static contest hangar for judges, pilots and helpers (shade) Guest relationship with VIP-area after competitors flight, photo shooting (meet the pilots) Sun roof for flight judges (practice) Fuel station with Jet A1 and turbine oil, vouchers on sale at the information office Briefing room with all technical equipment (e.g. beamer, P/A system, video) Catering (with separate pilots and officials area): one main restaurant, satellite restaurants, prices from CHF 6.- to 20.- depending on your personal requirements Shopping and demonstration area for sponsors and vendors WLAN-area Paramedic services Toilet facilities Security during the night provided by the Swiss Armed Forces, preventing access to closed airfield and hangars. No access to model hangars between 8 pm and 7 am! Airfield access limitations: The active flying airfield will require separate and different access for the pilot, the pilot's helpers and supporters Spectators will be restricted from the active flying airfield. The admission to the JWM 2013 competition site will be free of charge Spectators will be permitted to the model storage hangar; however they will be required to stay within the barricaded walkway areas (they will not be permitted to the model table area) For reasons of operational safety we cannot accept competitors, helpers and supporters without photo identification pass. So any person who does not provide an airfield access pass will not have access to facilities and restricted areas. Meals Breakfast and dinner will be served in the hotels or prepared by yourself at the camping grounds Lunch will be available at the airfield from CHF 6.- to CHF 20.- Drinks, water, snacks and light meals will be available for sale on the field.0 Page 4 of 11

Fuel and Oil Availability At the information office, vouchers for both, 20 litres of Jet A1 plus one litre of turbine oil, are available for 60.- CHF. Both will be delivered in containers. 8. Pre-flight Safety Inspection and Training Flights Prior to its first flight, the organisers will inspect every participating model aircraft for safety. Such on-site inspections will begin August 21, 09:00 hrs Prior to flying each contestant confirms in writing that his model aircraft has been flighttested before and was found to be safe for flight The contestant furthermore declares in writing that all ground and on-board components of the inspected model aircraft s remote control system(s) are legal for use in the country of origin of the contestant With individual approval of the Flight Line Director only, training, test or practice flying may be done from Wednesday, August 21, 09:00, to Friday, August 23, 18:00..0 Page 5 of 11
