The Feed Bag March 2018 Volume 40, Issue 3 A Diablo Valley Mustang Association Publication I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM......we all scream for ice cream! I m fully convinced the way to our car club s heart is through its stomach! The turn-out for our Sweetheart Ice Cream Run to Fenton s in Vacaville was, well, SWEET! We were so happy to see some faces that we ve not seen in quite awhile. Since it was lunch time our group was faced with a difficult decision -eat a regular lunch and not have the stomach capacity for one of those decadent sundaes, or just go for having a sundae for lunch? Some of us solved the problem by sharing one lunch order and then sharing one sundae. Some went straight for the sugar-high by having a whole sundae as their meal! Now that s ice cream dedication! The sundae special of the day was one made with Girl Scouts famous Thin Mint cookies. Several members made the personal sacrifice of ordering these so that the Girl Scouts would get the $$ donation from Fenton s. Many of the sundaes were so huge that the brain-frozen consumers had to ask for ice cream doggie bags for ice cream? Who knew? We all had a great time together. Some folks stayed to shop the Vacaville Outlets while others followed John home via a backroads route. The weather was fine and the traffic light. Bobby Hubbell., Lisi, and their 2010 Cobra GT 500 eventually felt the need for speed and found a couple of spots on the route to safely let er rip! It was a really fun day; hope you ll join us at some of our upcoming events! `Kathy Guzman, Eliz. Cofer,,, Kristen Guldner with their monster Girl Scout sundaes Joe and Sharon Dearing digging in Witness the carnage! There s just no way to eat these without making a major mess! DVMA DISPATCH DVMA Dispatch President Message March may be the beginning of good weather, but it appears that winter is just arriving. The last couple months have been wonderful for a few successful events for our members. There are some other events coming up a visit to Winchester Mystery House on March 25, a dinner to celebrate National Mustang Day on April 17, and a visit to Yosemite on May 5-6. This will be the third attempt to drive to Yosemite in good weather. Some members will stay over- night and some may return the evening of May 5. May 19 is Golden Hills Car Show in Suisun City. Planning is underway for a drive to Castle Air Museum on June 23. Members will have a private docent much like the wonderful day at Sacramento Air Museum. June 9 is the date for the Mustangs Only Car Show at Bill Brandt Ford in Brentwood. This is a show for our own club. Members need to sign up in the Event Book so we will know how many will be attending. Note that Rob and the dealership will be providing food and prizes. DVMA will supply trophies for a few different classes. The number of attendees will determine the number of prizes. The newsletter offers space for any member to let everyone know what is happening with their Mustangs. Are you upgrading, changing something, painting? If you know of a good garage that you are happy with, let us know about that also. Repairs and service are important to our Mustangs. DVMA is fortunate to have interactive members, beautiful cars, and fun events. I enjoy seeing every member at Fuddrucker s and our monthly meetings allow all of us to get to know each other better.
