Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning new skills, developing character and making friends. In addition to traditional and specialty camp activities, we are uniquely devoted to physical activity and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) education in each and every one of our programs. Build Our Kids Success (BOKS) is an initiative of the Reebok Foundation with the mission to give kids a body and brain boost. LEADERSHIP/TEEN LEADERSHIP/TEEN At the Y, we help youth set and achieve their personal and educational goals. They gain confidence as they recognize the Y as a place where they belong and can feel comfortable exploring new interests and passions. A unique program designed especially for teenagers and a careful balance of program components has been created to foster creativity, adventure, peer interaction, leadership skills, values clarification and friendships that will last a lifetime. COUNSELOR-IN- TRAINING ACADEMY 1-10 14-16 $130/$165 PRICED PER WEEK In this informative but fun leadership camp, teens will learn the in s and out s of what it takes to be a camp counselor at the YMCA. Every day campers will have short training sessions on running games, singing songs, leadership and teamwork. Teens then will have a chance to show what they learned in supervised hands-on training with our younger campers. CITs will be transported to our various camp sites for hands on training. So if your teen wants some preparation for a great summer job then this is the camp for you! Parents and CITS will have to attend one mandatory informational session before the start of the camp season to be eligible to participate in the CIT Academy.
