General ARESMAT members are encouraged to meet the following standard in setting up their Duty Kits for deployment. These Duty Kits are designed to be base starting points, and their contents will need to be adjusted to meet each specific scenario for which you are deployed. In order to keep these kits to manageable sizes, we have designed several kits for specific uses. The kits are set up as follows; Duty Kit B Basic Essentials o This kit contains the basic essentials that individuals would need to have on-hand to support themselves for up to 48 hours of operation. Duty Kit H HF Operations o This kit is designed to support HF operations at a deployed location such as a health and welfare station. Duty Kit M Mobile Operations o This is the most common kit that will be used, and is for direct support of mobile operations. It is designed to provide the necessities for operations using one mobile radio and a handi-talkie as backup. Duty Kit N Net Control/Shelter Operations o This kit is set up to enable an operator to perform net control duties at a deployed location. The most common assignment requiring this would be shelter communications. Duty Kit S Shadow Operations o This kit supports an individual that is performing shadow operations at an incident scene using a hand held radio. Duty Kit X Extended Support o This kit is set up to provide an operator with the basic necessities for extended operations lasting longer than 48 hours and for out-of-state operations. It is also a very good emergency kit to keep in your vehicle for operations during the winter months. 4/11/2010 Date Dan Anderson, KD0ASX Minnesota SEC Cell: 605-261-8027 Home: 507-827-3052 danderson1@iw.net
