Tom Jackson Public Information Officer Office (302) 395-8003 Mobile (302) 332-1175 January 22, 2016 UPDATE(2) NCCPD Responds to Stabbing Incident in Boxwood New Castle County Detectives have arrested a third suspect after further investigation identified him as being involved in the death of Everardo Martinez. Last night (01/22) County Police Detectives arrested the third suspect for this incident after he turned himself in to New Castle County Police HQ. Arrested was 16-year-old Rocco D Angelo of Elkton Maryland. D Angelo was charged with Murder in the First Degree, Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy in the second degree. He was processed at County HQ and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was issued a $665,000.00 bail and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center. The two subjects charged earlier in the investigation (within 24hrs) were 17-year-old Brian Livingston of Newark, DE and 19-year-old Geordin King, also of Newark. Both were charged at that time with Attempted Murder in the first degree as it was before the death of the victim. The attempted murder charges are expected to be modified to Murder in the first degree charges in the near future. They were also charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy in the second degree. Livingston was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $330,000.00

*********ORIGINAL RELEASES******** UPDATE NCCPD Responds to Stabbing Incident in Boxwood (Wilmington, DE 19804) On Tuesday (01/19) evening the victim that was stabbed on Read Avenue last Saturday night died at Christiana Hospital as a result of the wounds sustained during the incident. The victim was positively identified early Sunday morning as 19-year-old Everardo Martinez of Bear, DE. The New Castle County Police have already arrested two subjects for this incident but the investigation continues. Detectives have determined that the parties involved agreed to meet on Read Avenue. During that interaction, an altercation occurred and the victim was stabbed in the lower torso. The two aforementioned subjects were charged within 24 hours of the incident but investigators are still actively investigating this case. As this investigation evolves, more information, including the names of those in custody and the exact charges, will be released. NCCPD Responds to Stabbing Incident in Boxwood New Castle County Police are currently on scene in the community of Boxwood for the investigation of a subject who was stabbed. (Wilmington, DE 19804) Tonight (01/16) at approximately 7:52 pm, New Castle County Patrol and Mobile Enforcement Team (MET) units were dispatched to the unit block of Read Avenue for the report of a subject that appeared to have been stabbed. Arriving units located a male victim, possibly in his late teens or early 20 s, suffering from stab wounds. He was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and subsequently rushed to Christiana Hospital by Five Points Fire Company. His identification is still being confirmed and his status is considered critical at this time. Multiple responding police units including a police K9 responded to search for a suspect but have not located anyone at this time. This investigation is being turned over to the New Castle County Criminal Investigation Unit which is currently on scene. This investigation is ongoing and still in its early stages.
