Little Okavango Camp, Lake Victoria Set on the flood lands of Lake Victoria, Tanzania s largest lake made famous by John Henning Speke, Little Okavango is a small and intimate tented camp. With just four en suite rooms and the Bird Bar and Lounge, this is a great place to come back to after a fantastic Serengeti safari. Enjoy, arguably, the best place for birdlife in Africa. You can sit in the Bird Bar and Lounge and watch birdlife all around you before heading out by canoe onto the narrow water channels which lead to the wide expanse of Lake Victoria. Glide along the channels dwarfed by tall papyrus grasses marvelling at the birds which surround the canoe. At night, dine under the stars al fresco. The Bush Rover Suites (The Serengeti and Remote Selous) A truly exclusive mobile safari camp that puts you right where the action is! The Bush Rover Migration Camps in Serengeti are working Land Rovers which open up into luxurious mobile safari suites with bedrooms elevated some ten feet from ground level, providing a fantastic view. Each suite comes complete with solar powered lighting and hot water and camp crew. Each migration camp has only 4-5 Bush Rover Suites. The Bush Rovers drive ahead and set up in the best possible private sites for viewing the great wildebeest migration and remain in situ for several months whilst the migration is in a particular area before moving onto the next site. Your game drives are conducted in a separate 4x4 game vehicle. A truly different experience to get close to nature without compromising on comfort! Sable Mountain Lodge, Selous Sable Mountain Lodge blends seamlessly with its surroundings and is almost invisible from the air. It is located over two small hills right on the northwest boundary of the Selous Reserve, affording stunning views of surrounding miombo woodland, the plains of Selous as well as the distant Uluguru Mountains. This well-established lodge is very comfortable and well run by a dedicated Tanzanian team, with good food, a well-stocked characterful bar, as well as a large swimming pool and even a Spa. With just 12 rooms, the camp is intimate and guests are well looked after.
Simply Saadani Camp, Saadani National Park With just 11 rooms all facing the Indian Ocean and surrounded by a national park, Simply Saadani has been built in keeping with its natural surroundings using, amongst other natural materials, coconut trees felled by elephants on the plot. Each room is very private with tastefully-designed bathrooms, raised up around 6 feet on a large wooden platform to take advantage of the sea breezes. The Camp is run on solar power. The large bar is well-stocked and there is a small library and lounge area which is a lovely place to escape to in the heat of the day. Relax at the camp or book a game or boat safari. If you need more action than lying on the beach or swimming in the sea, head down to the wildlife research centre for a wildlife conservation talk, go bird watching in canoes along the camps own creek or head out on 1 of the 4 colour-coded nature walks. Saadani is the only coastal wildlife preserve in the whole of East Africa and is a unique combination of wild bush and beach. Babs Camp, Elephant Island Conservancy Located in the best area in Saadani for wildlife viewing, and built on a private concession surrounded by Saadani National Park, Babs Camp is a 20 metre high tower complete with a crow s nest offering 360 degree views of the Indian Ocean and bush. The Tower has 2 double en suite rooms, restaurant and bar and is a great place from which to head out on game drives and foot safaris in the private concession. Learn about animal prints and maybe help set a camera trap with your guide. Saadani National Park also has within it the Madete Marine Park where endangered green turtles hatch between July and September each year. The Zanzibari, Nungwi The Zanzibari is an intimate boutique hotel on the popular north tip of Nungwi in Zanzibar, very close to the Mnemba atoll which is a favoured place for diving on the island. The hotel is situated on a low coral cliff within easy reach of the sea. Peace and tranquillity are the bywords of this friendly, relaxed hotel. There are just 8 Bougainvillea rooms, all en suite and with balcony and all facing the ocean, and 2 Frangipane Suites which are double storey villas with private beach, plunge pools and lounge with tv. Day 3 A full day in the conservancy starts with a foot safari around the salt flats. After lunch, head out for a late afternoon game drive in the Saadani National Park with sundowners in the park and night game drive in the conservancy. Dinner and overnight at Babs Camp. Day 4 This morning head out for a game drive and to the Wami River for a boat safari and breakfast with the hippos. After lunch, back to your camp and relax by the salt flats. Simply Saadani 4 nights Simply Saadani Camp Fly from the UK to Dar es Salaam Airport. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be met and transferred by road to Saadani National Park, passing local villages en route. The journey takes approximately four hours with two hours inside the park. Once you cross the Wami River your safari adventure begins. Dinner and overnight at Simply Saadani Camp. Days 3 5 Relax at the beautiful and natural Simply Saadani Camp. The lovely coastline with its palm-fringed beach creates an image of a forgotten paradise, unique because of the bordering Saadani National Park, the only coastal wildlife preserve in the whole of East Africa. Here you can relax at the beach, swim in the Indian Ocean, walk for miles, undisturbed, or choose to take a safari which could be on foot, by boat or by 4 x 4. You can even visit the Madete Marine Park which forms part of the national park and be fortunate enough to witness endangered green turtles hatching from their nests and heading out to sea. From your room terrace each morning facing the Indian Ocean, watch a few local fishermen in their traditional dhows bringing in their catch of the day. At the camp, you can walk one of several nature trails to enjoy the beautiful birdlife, or take a boat out to a nearby sandbar for snorkelling in crystal-clear water. In the late afternoon, meander down the local Mafui creek on a traditional canoe which is a relaxing way to end the day. All meals and overnight at Simply Saadani Camp.
