Nature s Spa Tatai Waterfall by boat (FT-00, FT-06) One of the must-sees of the region, Tatai Waterfall is offered every second day on regular basis. Away from the tranquility of 4 Rivers Floating Lodge, the thunder of the majestic Tatai Falls reveals the river s true power as it drops 6 meters to the rocks below. Your day, depending on the tide, starts at around 10am for the 45- minute boat ride past Tatai village to the falls. Turning on to a tributary you head into the heart of the Cardamom jungle to the far-off sounds of exotic birds and its secretive wildlife. Within minutes you are at journey s end, gazing down into the turbulent waters of the falls. Soon it s time for lunch, maybe a few moments hydro-massage and a refreshing drink as you find some shade for a picnic and open your senses to the sights and sounds of the jungle. We will also arrange to transport some kayaks for your added fun and adventure. After leaving the falls, depending of the season we might stop at the mouth of a small river where you can paddle your kayak to a traditional Cambodian farm; you will see rice fields and some fruit trees.
Koh Kong Khnong Lost in the mangrove (FT-00, FT-11) Another highlight of the area, Koh Kong Khnong is offered every other day, alternating with Tatai Waterfall on a regular basis. Leaving 4 Rivers around 10am, depending on the tide, you will cruise deep into the mangroves to experience a rare glimpse of life among the fishing communities that live off the natural bounty of this watery paradise. Hornbills and king fisher might also be just flying over the trees and mangroves as you navigate. Drinks will be served en route as you glide down the waterway to your fishing village destination where you will spend time with these shy but friendly people. While the men tend their boats, the womenfolk patiently mend their nets and children play tag and football in the narrow alleyways between the stilt houses. BBQ lunch on the beach would be served after visiting the pagoda, school and a few villager s homes. Back in the boat, you will experience the pure magic of life among the mangroves from our boat and the kayaks before heading back to 4 Rivers comfort.

Rainforest Symphony - Dawn Jungle Trek (FT-02) The Dawn Jungle Trek is offered every day on a regular basis, for two guests or more. You should bring: hiking boots, sun block, a hat or a cap How long: departure at 7am, 2-3 hours or as long as you are enjoying yourselves Includes: local guide, coffee, mineral water4 Limitations: the tour can be taken only in the dry season, from November to April It s your time to shine if you re a bird watcher or early riser! Enjoy firsthand the sights and sounds of the jungle as you venture forth into the undergrowth with your camera and experience the beauty of one of the world s largest rainforests. This trek offers a taste of the true jungle, an opportunity to observe small wildlife and have the added bonus of a morning exercise. It provides a sense of achievement and the chance to cool off in beautiful surroundings. After an early coffee in our restaurant kayak upstream the small channel right behind 4 Rivers. The climb starts shortly after on a fairly steep path for about an hour. There is a short break in a clearing near the top and you will return just in time for a 4 Rivers breakfast. There are snakes, scorpions and spiders on the trek; some are poisonous. However animals are shy and avoid human contact. Respect for nature and a live and let live policy are adopted.
Greet the Neighbors - A Walk into the Khmers Life (FT-05) The walk around the Koh Andet Island is offered on the basis of two guests or more (subject to guide availability). Today it is a peaceful home to a dozen farming families. While you might be tempted to be cocooned in the comfort of your tent, we strongly encourage you to share the lives of our neighbours. You can take a walk or take a bicycle on the trail that we have prepared for guests who would like to see a rural setting. This informal but deep experience will surely make your stay memorable. Meeting people from different cultures is one of the best reasons to step outside your tent the stuff of lifelong memories. Cambodia is an enticing country, and the Khmers are graceful and charming, always ready to greet you with a big smile. Take the opportunity to crack open your phrasebook, and practice the local language. That is, when our neighbors are actually home, when they are not harvesting their crops or catching some fish. Taking a good portrait shot can be a photographer s biggest challenge. But it s not just about camera settings, it s about making friends too, yet more rewarding. Encounters with people can give you some of the best memories. Just take your camera, the most important thing is to like people, respect them and be genuinely interested in them.
Cardamoms in Depth Trekking for Connoisseurs (FT-09) The Cardamom Tour is offered during the dry season on a basis of a minimum of two guests by motorbike. You should bring: hiking boots, sun block, swimming costume, a hat or a cap How long: 9-10 hours or as long as you are enjoying yourselves; 8 hours of trekking Includes: a ride on a motorbike with a local guide/driver, coffee, water, picnic lunch Limitations: the tour can be taken only in the dry season, from November to April; prebooking is necessary at least 7 days in advance At 11.30am, you ll reach the Bat Cave, which also houses wild boars at night. At 1.00pm, you ll reach the first waterfalls where you ll have your picnic lunch. You can enjoy swimming at this waterfalls for an hour, then at 2pm, time to leave to see more of the Cardamoms At 4.00pm, you ll get to the 2nd waterfalls where you can enjoy yourselves for half an hour, before exiting the jungle Prepare your hiking boots, take some sun block, you re on for a jungle discovery. After an early breakfast, our boat will take you around 8am to Tatai to meet your guide. From his childhood, he was one of the bests on doing what everybody could do at that time to survive logging and poaching. Reconverted recently into tour guide, rare will be your question he can t answer about the Cardamoms jungle. A short briefing and you ll depart for a soft but challenging discovery riding the bike behind your experienced driver. You ll arrive at the entry point to the rainforest at 9am. Here is where your trek begins Be assured, at the smallest sign of wildlife trace or presence you ll be notified. Your guide will be showing you the beauty of the Cardamom Rainforest, and you ll enjoy the sound, the scent and the sight of this beautiful greenery Around 6.00pm your motorbike driver will pick you up from the exit point, on Road #48. Then at 6.30pm, your boat will wait for you at the embarkation point to take you to the floating hotel, so you can regain the comfort of your tent and have a hot shower before dinner.
Ta Kiev Mountain A Beginner s Trek in the Cardamoms (FT-10) The Ta Kiev Mountain Trek is offered during the dry season on a basis of a minimum of two guests. You should bring: hiking boots, sun block, swimming costume, a hat or a cap How long: 5 hours including boat ride and kayaking; 3 hours of trekking Departure at 10am; Return to the resort at 3pm. Includes: a local guide, water, picnic lunch Limitations: the tour can be taken only in the dry season, from November to April; pre-booking is necessary at least 2 days in advance Get ready for your first taste of the Cardamom Rainforest. At 10am, after a hearty breakfast, you ll get on a small local boat with your guide to reach the entry point of the trek, at the base of Ta Kiev Mountain. You ll start a 2-hour trek from a rice fields Your guide will show you the very few settlers in this area, and their very special unexplored surroundings Lunch at a small waterfall, then head back to where you started the trek. You will then take the kayak and paddle your way back to the hotel for an hour.
