Geneva offers: A major international airport only 4km from the city center, with more than 90 nonstop international destinations Train connections with high-speed railways Major road connections from every part of Europe Air cargo facilities 130 hotels / 9'000 hotel rooms / 15'000 beds Geneva, where people meet, and more than you imagine! Genève GB 2009 V6.doc Page 15 of 16

Media Coverage The media are very concerned by ballooning activities in Switzerland, especially by the Alpine Château-d'Oex Balloon Festival in January. Every year the Geneva International Montgolfiades in March and April, organized by Geneva Tourism, attract pilots and spectators from many countries. Television coverage of balloon activities grows very fast after the fantastic world record of Bertrand Piccard in 1999. Rules We propose to use the updated Gordon Bennett Model Event Rules and would like to propose the following changes: Rule 2.2 Both pilots must hold a valid LTA license (free balloon) with a minimum of 50 hours and a FAI Sporting License issued by their NAC. Rule 2.3 Lifting gas will be hydrogen. Rule 3.2 Add sentence: The balloons must be hydrogen certified and able to pass a conductivity test if required by our safety officials. The pilots who usually use helium balloon can rent with the assistance of the organizers a hydrogen balloon. Rule 8.1 Observers will not be used.
