Results of the new measures implemented (with the new National Eradication Plan) The aim was: To increase the total number of the shot wild boars (with about 1%) To increase the number of shot young (under 12 months) animals within the hunting bag (goal: 2 25% of the total number of shot wild boars) Pest county: Increase of the rate of young wild boars in the hunting bag. 12 1 8 6 4 2 28 March - Aug 28 Sept - 29 Febr 29 March - Aug 29 Sept - 21 Jan 1-year-old >1-year-old
Analysis of the current situation The number of CSF cases significantly decreased in 29 in comparison with 28: In Nógrád county the last case was found more than one year ago, in Pest county 4 months ago During the last three months almost 14 wild boars were tested in Pest county without any viropositive results Measures implemented after the trilateral meeting: Improvement of the monitoring programme in domestic pig population. Total depopulation of the hunting preserve in Galgamácsa
Changes in the laboratory diagnosis of CSF in wild boar The testing with antigen detection ELISA has been finished Virus isolation has to be carried out in case of positive PCR result In those areas where CSF case(s) occurred in the last six months, a positive PCR result or a positive virus isolation is enough to confirm the disease
Slovakia Hungary Bilateral Meeting (Budapest, 16 Feb 21) Both countries agreed on the followings: To continue with monitoring and control measures without vaccination. Emergency vaccination of wild boars is possible if the epidemiological situation will be negatively changed. Bilateral meetings on central level: At least one bilateral meeting per year depending on the epidemiological situation Bilateral meetings on regional level: Two bilateral regional expert groups were established. Contact persons were appointed for each group from both sides.
Slovakia Hungary Bilateral Meeting (Budapest, 16 Feb 21) Both countries agreed on the followings: Cooperation between National Reference Laboratories (NRLs): Both countries supported to continue the existing collaboration between NRLs, which is based on exchange of relevant information and biological materials. Exchange of information: To exchange the results of monitoring of CSF in wild boars on a monthly basis, in domestic pig population on a half yearly basis. The persons responsible were appointed.
