BIRDS-EYE VIEW OF SOUTHERN PERU 5 Days & 4 Nights Day 1 Lima Upon arrival in Lima you will be met at the airport and transferred to your selected hotel. Overnight. Day 2 Lima Enjoy a morning guided visit to the Cathedral, Main Square, and San Francisco Convent with its catacombs. Then continue to the residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores, the new commercial area south of Lima. Stop by the ocean front to enjoy a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel for overnight. Day 3 Lima Cusco (Breakfast) Depart early to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your selected hotel. Remainder of the morning is at leisure. Your afternoon tour will take you to visit the nearby ruins including the Sacsayhuaman Fortress overlooking the city of Cusco, a pre-inca architectural masterpiece; Kenko, a rock sanctuary whose main attraction is a monolithic altar representing a puma; the red fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins. Continue to the city of Cusco : the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Church or Temple of the Sun (Koricancha). (Excursion for 4 hours). Return to the hotel late in the afternoon. Day 4 Cusco Machu Picchu Cusco Your full day excursion to the ruins of Machu Picchu begins early in the morning with a transfer to the train station. Journey to the Aguas Calientes train station at the foot of the archaeological complex, then continue by bus up to the ruins and enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu. This fabulous city is totally built of stone blocks, fitted with masterful precision and has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps. It is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side that were used for agriculture. After lunch return by bus to Aguas Calientes, and then on to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Day 5 Cusco Lima Next destination Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport in the morning for your 1 hour flight to Lima. CUSCO & LAKE TITICACA 9 Days & 8 Nights Days 1 2 Lima Cusco Upon arrival in Lima you will be met at the airport and transferred to your selected hotel for overnight. Next day, take the one hour flight to Cusco. Afternoon visit to the nearby ruins including the Sacsayhuaman Fortress overlooking the city of Cusco, a pre-inca architectural masterpiece; Kenko, a rock sanctuary whose main attraction is a monolithic altar representing a puma; the red fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins. Continue to the city of Cusco to see the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Church. Day 3 Cusco Urubamba Valley Cusco Full day excursion to Pisac, a typical Andean village where a market is held and peasants from around the area bring their products and handicrafts. On Sundays, Mayors from all the neighboring villages, dressed in their traditional costumes, attend the Catholic mass said in their native language (Quechua). Buffet lunch at a country restaurant in the valley. After lunch visit Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that is still inhabited, and explore the ruins that tower above it. Days 4 5 Cusco Machu Picchu Early transfer to the train station and depart for Machu Picchu. Arrival in Aguas Calientes Station and continue by bus up to the ruins (approx. 3 ½ hours). Guided visit to Machu Picchu which is totally built of stone blocks, fitted with masterful precision. This fabulous city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and it is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side that were used for agriculture. Overnight in Machu Picchu and enjoy the views of the ruins at sunset and sunrise. Return to Cusco and to your chosen hotel. Days 6 7 Cusco Puno Depart from Cusco to Puno by the new Andean Explorer Train under Orient Express Management, which features a luxury train decorated in 1920 s style. The train has a carriage with a bar, a restaurant and an observation deck from where one can enjoy the scenery. All carriages have Pullman style seats, wide aisles, catering service as well as oxygen. They are connected to each other so passengers and crew can go from one to another safely. The journey takes 10 hours. Cruise Lake Titicaca and take a walk on a typical floating reed island that is inhabited by Uros. Stop on the island of Taquile where you will see residents in their colorful national costumes. Day 8 Puno Juliaca Lima Visit the Chullpas of Sillustani. These funerary towers date from the 13th century and the highest measures about 12 m. The superb landscapes and the view of the neighboring Umayo Lake make this tour a very special experience. Departure by plane to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel. Day 9 Lima Next destination See the highlights of Lima on your morning tour of the city. Visit the Cathedral, Main Square, and San Francisco Convent with its catacombs. Continue to the residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores, the new commercial area south of Lima, and the ocean front to enjoy a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. PERU IN-DEPTH WITH AMAZON BASIN 18 Days & 17 Nights Days 1 2 Lima Upon arrival in Lima you will be met and transferred to your preferred hotel. See the sights of Lima on your guided tour, including the Cathedral, Main Square, San Francisco Convent and catacombs, and the beautiful coastal district of Miraflores. Days 3 4 Ica Nazca Take a privately guided drive to Ica and board your flight-seeing excursion over the Nazca Lines. See the gigantic drawings and geometrical figures representing animals, such as a spider, a monkey and several birds. Return to Lima by road. Days 5 7 Arequipa Colca Canyon Fly from Lima to Arequipa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, set in the Andes and known for its white colonial buildings. Tour the highlights of the city, including the Plaza de Armas, Compañía Church, and the extraordinary 16th century Santa Catalina convent. Drive to Colca Canyon, South America s deepest canyon, passing vicuñas, llamas and alpacas along the way. Tour the local market and look for condors flying over the valley. Days 8 9 Puno Drive to Puno, situated on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Take a boat ride and explore the floating islands made of reeds and inhabited by the Uros. Days 10 11 Andean Explorer Cusco Depart from Puno to Cusco by the new Andean Explorer Train under Orient Express Management. While in Cusco, visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, Kenko, the red fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins. Tour the city of Cusco: the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo Church. Days 12 13 Urubamba Valley Machu Picchu Full-day tour to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and Pisac Market. Visit Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which is still inhabited, and explore the ruins that tower above it. Return to Cusco via Chinchero. Take a full-day tour to the ruins of Machu Picchu, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site built of stone blocks. Day 14 16 Puerto Maldonado Reserva Amazónica Fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado and board the boat bound for your rainforest experience at the luxury Reserva Amazónica. Take walks, wander the medicinal plant garden, and voyage up the Madre de Dios by motorboat to Sandoval Lake for swimming and canoeing. Visit the Canopy Inkaterra Interpretation Center and walk through the treetops along suspension bridges that connect eight observation platforms. En route, look for giant strangler fig trees, orchids, toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and sloths. Take the Anaconda Walk over the Aguajales swamps. Enjoy boating and walking in the rainforest and visit a working farm. Days 17 18 Lima Journey back to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Lima and get ready for your departure home or to your next destination. See the highlights of the city, relax and get acclimated and prepared for your four-day trek to Machu Picchu. Days 5 Cusco Wayllabamba Depart early this morning on your drive to the trail head. Your 5-6 hour walk today begins by crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River and following along the shore, a flat terrain, before ascending to an overlook where you will see the impressive Inca city of Patallacta. Continue trekking with a gradual climb, observing spectacular views along the way, to the community of Wayllabamba where you will settle down for the night in your camp. Days 6 Wayllabamba Pacaymayo Today s trek takes you on a climb through the mountains, passing llamas and alpacas grazing, many different kinds of birds, and the Andean or Spectacled Bear. You ll reach an altitude of over 13,700 feet before descending 2000 feet into the Pacaymayo Valley, where you will camp for the night. Days 7 Pacaymayo Winaywayna You will see impressive archaeological sites and enjoy the abundant Andean flora and fauna of the lush cloud forest as you trek through the mountains today. The camp is located near an Inca complex consisting of an agricultural center with terraces, a religious sector and an urban area. Visit the ruins and then enjoy a farewell dinner at the camp. Days 8 Winaywayna Machu Picchu Awaken very early this morning and hike to the Sun Gate where you will see an amazing site the sun rising over the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. From there you will descend into Machu Picchu and enter the citadel from the highest point and tour the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy some free time to wander and explore before taking the train this afternoon to Cusco. Day 9 10 Cusco Lima Return to Lima and prepare for your return home or continuation to additional exciting areas of Peru. SPECIAL INTEREST TOURS OF PERU ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERY 10 Days & 9 Nights Days 1 2 Lima Pachacámac Upon arrival in Lima you will be met and transferred to your preferred hotel. Take an excursion to the 15th-century Pachacamac archaeological complex, the most important pre-incan center on the Peruvian coast. Days 3 4 Caral Depart Lima and drive up the coast towards Caral, the newest Peruvian addition to the UNESCO World Heritage Site collection. It is America s oldest city from 3000 B.C. and it sits in the Supe Valley. Days 5 8 Trujillo Chiclayo Continue north to Trujillo. En route, visit the Cerro Sechin Temple, one of Peru s most important archaeological monuments. While in Trujillo, appreciate the historical examples of two important civilizations: Mochica and Chimu. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chan Chan, founded by the ancient Chimu nobility in the 12th 14th century. The Huacas del Sol y la Luna and the Huaca de Cao Viejo are impressive Mochica monuments, dating back 1500 years. The discovery of the 4th century tomb of the Lord of Sipan in Huaca Rajada, just southeast of Chiclayo has been compared with the discovery of Tutanhkhamen s tomb. Visit the museum where you see descendents of the Moche culture work with the same materials and techniques that their ancestors used. Explore the complex of 26 adobe pyramids in Tucume and the archaeological site of Batán Grande from the Sicán culture, which dates back to 1300 B.C. Fly back to Lima. Days 9 10 Ica Nazca Depart Lima and take a privately guided drive to Ica where you board your flight-seeing excursion over the Nazca Lines. See the gigantic drawings and geometrical figures representing animals, such as a spider, a monkey and several birds; it is believed to be an enormous calendar. While in the area, visit the Cahuachi Ceremonial Center and the Cantayoc Aqueduct, built by the Nascas and still in operation today. Return to Lima. Bookings will receive a reservation status reply within 72 hours of the request. Rates All rates are in U.S. Dollars, per passenger, and valid for the year indicated therein. Prices are subject to change without prior notice, due to currency fluctuations, additional taxes or circumstances beyond the control of Panorama Peru. Deposits and Payment A non-refundable deposit of $150 will be required upon booking in order to confirm arrangements. The deposit will be applied to the final payment. Individual passengers: Final payment must be received no later than 21 days prior to the client s arrival Groups: Final payment must be received no later than 60 days prior to clients arrival.payments may be made by check, bank transfer or credit card. We accept Visa, American Express and MasterCard. Accommodations Rates will be quoted on a per person basis per specified request. Single travelers will be quoted on a single basis, whereas those sharing a room will be quoted as share basis for each person, as requested. Group rates will be based on sharing twin-bedded rooms. Additional cost for single occupancy. Cancellation Charges Individuals: No charge if cancellation notice received at least 15 days prior to the arrival date in Peru. Groups: No charge if cancellation notice received at least 45 days prior to arrival date in Peru. If cancellation falls between 30 and 7 days before arrival of passengers, we shall invoice those fees charged to us plus a handling fee. If cancellation is less than 7 days prior to arrival of passengers, no refund will be made. For reservations during festivals and holidays, such as Easter week, Christmas, New Year, National Days (28th and 29th July) and Inti-Raymi Festival in Cusco, special deadlines, deposits and cancellation charges will apply. Hotels We can book various categories of hotels, from Superior Tourist to Deluxe. Please mention category desired when requesting reservations. We can also make reservations at hotels of your choice. In the event that the selected hotel is unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute it with another of similar category. No-shows, for which we become liable for penalties, will be charged in full. Hotel rates will be quoted per person and not per room. Airport Departure Taxes Airport Departure Taxes are not included in our rates. All airports charge departure taxes for domestic and international flights and are subject to periodic changes without notice. Transfers and Porterage For all airport transfers, porterage is included for two bags per person, both at the hotel and the airport, unless otherwise specified. Meals Meals are not included, except if specified. Excursions and Itineraries Excursions are via private car or seat-in-bus basis accompanied by an official English speaking guide (unless another language is requested). We reserve the right to change travel programs, routes and timetables with or without prior notice, when circumstances beyond our control make such changes necessary. Portions of the itinerary included in the tour and not used by the participant, including hotel accommodation, sightseeing tours, meals or other such items are not refundable. Liability Our tour agency acts solely as agent in all matters relating to transportation, hotel accommodation, services and facilities provided by other parties and are responsible only for the completion of the services confirmed. While exercising every possible precaution, we are not responsible for injury, sickness, damage, loss, additional expenses, accidental delay or other irregularities which may be caused either through willful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of companies or individuals providing or engaged in transportation, accommodation or other services related to the accomplishment of the tour, or through natural disasters, social upheavals or Acts of God.
