Camp for Cub Scouts and Families! Camp is quickly approaching! The outdoor experience is one of the most important aspects of Cub Scouting we provide for our kids. It keeps them engaged during the summer and keeps them interested in the program in between school years! During the camp experience, your child will: Learn New Things Make New Friends Build Self Esteem HAVE FUN!!! We offer several different types of Cub Camping experiences: Day Camp for Cubs and siblings, Family Camp at Camp Norse and Cub World, and Webelos Camp at Camp Yawgoog and Camp Norse. Each Cub Camp program offers a unique experience that gives you and your family an opportunity to grow and learn while having FUN. See you at Camp this summer!
Family Day Camp Family Day Camp is a great way for your Cub Scout age Son or Daughter to experience the thrill of the outdoors and is a good introduction to independence from mom and dad without being too far from home. The week-long program fills each day with adventure and experiences for which families join the Scouting program. Activities include archery, BB, boating, swimming, crafts, and many more. All Day Camps offer extended hours for families whose schedule does not fit the 9am-4pm time period. Day Camps are geographically located throughout the Narragansett Council for the convenience of all Scouting families. Each week will offer a different theme to keep the excitement going all summer, so take advantage of coming to camp multiple weeks at a DISCOUNTED RATE. You can also sign up for camp ALL SUMMER at Camp Champlin!! Volunteers are needed to serve on staff. If you are interested you must fill out the online application on the website. If selected to be on staff; you will also receive one FREE week of camp for one camper. If you are looking for a summer activity for the entire pack to enjoy together, you can go to Camp Norse with our special Pack Rate. Provide your own volunteer den leaders for the week and bring as many scouts as you can to this action packed adventure. New for 2016! Webelos Outdoor Adventure at Camp Yawgoog The Webelos Outdoor Adventure at Yawgoog Scout Reservation is a fantastic introduction to the Boy Scout program while providing the additional adult supervision and structure still needed by the Cub Scouts. Webelos Outdoor Adventure is only for those Scouts entering the 4th or 5th grade in the fall of 2015. Your son can attend the week-long session or half-week session with other boys in his den or he can come on his own and quickly make new friends. In addition to swimming, boating, archery, BB, and other regular camp activities, special program features include: an outpost overnighter, panning for gold at The CY & W Mining Company, and an expedition in one of our twelve passenger Voyageur Canoes. Come to Camp Norse this summer for our Webelos Resident Weekend. All the fun and action of a week packed into a weekend session. You can use this weekend to prepare your son for the week long Yawgoog Webelos Outdoor Adventure. During the weekend, Scouts will have the opportunity to work on some of their advancements, start working as a patrol, learn about their next step into Boy Scouts, plus fishing, swimming, boating, BB, archery, and much more! In addition, since it is a weekend, parents can join in on the fun. JUNE 24-JUNE 26
Family Camp at Camp Norse Whether you are an experienced backpacker or have never slept a night out in a tent, family camp is the perfect opportunity to enjoy all that Camp Norse has to offer! You can enjoy 2 nights as a full pack or as a family. Our dining hall is in full swing with delicious food, great songs, and always that Camp Norse Spirit! Enjoy making crafts, cool science experiments, swimming in the pool, lounging on our beach, going fishing, shooting, archery, and so much more. It is fun for the entire family! SESSION 1: JUNE 10-JUNE 12 SESSION 2: JUNE 17-JUNE 19 SESSION 3: JULY 8- JULY 10 SESSION 4: JULY 15-JULY 17 SESSION 5: JULY 22-JULY 24 Cub World Family Camp Can t get away for an entire weekend? Come to Cub World for a shorter stay and enjoy all the fun and adventure we have to offer. Check in on Saturday morning to either one of our two cool theme areas. You can be a Pirate for the weekend in the Pease High Seas Adventure or you can learn to be a knight at the Bridgeton Castle. All meals will be provided in our top notch dining hall, and hot showers and comfortable bunk rooms are provided for all guests. My daughter also attended camp. She was apprehensive at first, but really enjoyed her experience there. The staff was the perfect combination of professional yet fun. Everything was great, we will be back next year! Our son loved it so much! He would like to do more next year! I only registered them for two weeks, after the first week they wanted to go all summer! They had so much fun. My granddaughter went to camp for 7 weeks and she loved every minute of it. She can t wait to go back next year. My son had a lot of fun and asked if he could go the whole summer next year!
