In general the people of Banyuwangi district make their living from the following sectors: 1. Agriculture : 30.72 % 2. Industry : 1.51 % 3. Trade : 5.64 % 4. Services : 3.81 % 5. INFRASTRUCTURE Transportation 1. Land Banyuwangi can be reached on a two-lane road, lane north and southbound lanes. Northern line is part of the path that runs north coast of Anyer to Panarukan port and passes Situbondo. While the southbound lanes is a fraction of the path of the north coast, from Probolinggo pass Lumajang and Jember. There are also other modes of land transport, the railway line Surabaya - Pasuruan - Probolinggo - Jember and Banyuwangi ended. Railway Station which is large enough in Banyuwangi Banyuwangi railway station. 2. Sea Ketapang port is located in the northern part of the town of Banyuwangi, connecting Java and Bali by Ferry, LCM, Roro and Barges. 3. Air Blimbingsari Airport, located in Rogojampi District is the main entry of air transportation in Banyuwangi regency. Originally the runway was only 1,400 meters (4,600 ft.) in length and could only accommodate small propeller-driven aircraft such as the Cessna 208, but in 2012 it was extended to 1,800 meters (5,900 ft.) to allow large turboprop airliners such as the Fokker 50 and ATR 72 to operate from the airport. In 2012 it served approximately 25,000 passengers, and in 2014 served almost 88,000 passengers. Telecommunication Banyuwangi Regency is supported by adequate telecommunication facilities, all of the national cellular operator provide many relay tower in the regency. Energy State Electric Company (PLN) has expanded its service range to the Banyuwangi regency. Electrical service for residents in the regency has been even, but some rural areas in the regency do not yet have electricity, this is because the number of connections and the geography of the region. Water There are a total of 35 watersheds in Banyuwangi regency, in addition to irrigate rice fields, it is also a positive influence on soil fertility and another utilization. P a g e 4 18

TOURISM FACTS ATTRACTION Many European tourists visiting Bali come to Banyuwangi to surf in Plengkung and dive in Tabuhan Island. Ferries from Bali arrive at the port of Ketapang, some 8 km to the north of Banyuwangi city. Plekung Beach is also known as G-land or green land have 3 types of waves up to 6 to 8 meters tall. Diamond Triangle Diamond Triangle consists of: 1. Ijen Crater Nature Tourist Park, we can see Tosca lake crater and traditional sulphur mining which the sulphur bunch mobilization still use human to hike and down to the crater. 2. Alas Purwo National Park, in addition to animal sightseeing, the tourist can surf at G-land / Plengkung with Money Trees, Speddy's, Kongs, Twenty-twenty and Tiger Track waves. 3. Meru Betiri National Park, Sukamade Turtle Breeding Station regularly releases baby marine turtles to open ocean. 4 of 6 kind of turtles can be found in Indonesia regularly visit Sukamade to put their eggs. Penyu Hijau (Chelonia Mydas) visit the Sukamade Beach almost every night, Penyu Lekang (Lepidochelys Olivacea) visit in March to June, Penyu Belimbing (Dermochelys Coriacea) put the egg every 4 years in June to September and the scare Penyu Sisik (Eremochelys Olivacea) very seldom to visit the beach. ACCESSIBILITIES Banyuwangi Regency are relatively easy to reach by both domestic and international tourist. Tourists can access the regency directly via Blimbingsari Airport or via Ketapang Port which connect Banyuwangi Regency and Bali Province. The nearest international airport are Juanda International Airport in Kediri Regency and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. P a g e 5 18

REGIONAL TOURISM POLICY TOURISM POSITION ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Banyuwangi Regency is one of the national priority in terms of tourism development. The Ministry of Tourism have appointed many destinations in East Java Province as the National Tourism Development Zone and the National Tourism Destination, Banyuwangi Regency was included as one of the National Tourism Development Zone and the National Tourism Destination. Tourism has become one of the main priority sector for development by the local government. The government and the community have fully aware of the Banyuwangi Regency tourism resources and it s potential for economic contribution through tourism development. They are welcoming every investors that are willing to cooperate not only on developing more tourism attraction and facilities but also to develop in all of tourism aspects of Banyuwangi Regency. REGIONAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE The tourism development at the Banyuwangi Regency must be implemented in compliance with the following principles: 1. Community based tourism Maintain the involvement of the local community and the stakeholders on every tourism development activities 2. Sustainable tourism Continuous improvement and preservation of the environmental, cultural and community aspects of tourism development 3. Cultural preservation Implement and integrate the local culture elements on all of the tourism development activities 4.
