Holston Conference Summer Camping 2018

Welcome to Camp Wesley Woods! Our theme this year is from Isaiah 6:8 Here I am; send me! We re going to learn all about the community and relationships that God has ordained for us and how this works in our day to day lives. Since 1959, God has used Camp Wesley Woods in helping kids begin relationships with Jesus and grow in their faith journeys. When God s creation, His word, a community of Christ s followers, and the Holy Spirit are all present, amazing things happen. As a parent, I know the importance of camp, as well as the importance of trusting the people you place over the care of your children. My personal commitment to you is that we will provide a safe, fun, connectional, faith building, and skill developing environment here at camp. I will treat your children with the same concern and care that I treat my own four kids; in fact, many of you will meet my four children in our programs. I sincerely thank you for considering Camp Wesley Woods to partner with you and trusting us with the spiritual development of your children. We look forward to seeing you at camp! If you have questions about camp, or would like a personal tour, please give us a call or send an email. Yours in Christ, Tony Lea, Director www. campwesleywoods. com Phone (865) 448-2246 Camp Wesley Woods 329 Wesley Woods Road Townsend, TN 37882 Find us on social media: CampWesleyWoodsTN @CampWesleyWoods @CampWesleyWoods Camp Wesley Woods is a ministry of Holston Conference of The United Methodist Church and is Accredited by the American Camp Association.

When we asked parents how we are doing Nate truly enjoyed his entire week. He came back She feels more independent about what she can do for herself and her confidence in her own ability. happy, exhausted, and renewed in his love for Christ. Grant came home a more mature young man spiritually and just in general. He definitely has a better understanding of Jesus on a more personal level. Over the years at Camp Wesley she has built friendships, learned skills, and furthered her faith journey. Emma loved her counselors. She felt safe and cared for. She also loved the food! 4

Basecamp (Grades 4-10) Basecamp is a traditional, six-day, five-night resident camp. Campers have the opportunity to make new friends, grow in Christian faith, and have tons of camp fun. All campers will be involved in cabin life, group activities, Bible study, evening activities, worship, campfires, and daily recreational activities (see page 1). Each week will have a theme. Themes are a way to make each week at camp unique and special. Some evening activities and special events will follow the themes. If you have items at home that you think will help celebrate our themes, please bring them! Themes account for about 10% of our time each week. Campers have the opportunity to choose three special Skill Activities. You will select these activities when you register or any time up to one week before the session begins. You will go to each of your Skill Activities an average of four times while at camp. Skill Activities are listed on page 1 and the Registration Form. In future years, parents will simply need to update any health changes from the previous year. Parents without online access will continue to be able to complete camp registration, health, and profile information on the paper forms provided. Tiered Pricing: Camp Wesley Woods offers three pricing options. Why three prices? RATIONALE: For many years, Camp Wesley Woods has attempted to use fund raising to keep summer camp rates at an affordable level for many families who could not manage the true cost of camp. Unfortunately, the cost to operate camp has increased greater than our fees and extra fund raising. Our voluntary three-tier pricing plan reflects the true cost of participating in camp while preserving an opportunity for participation for those unable to meet it. The plan is simple. Choose the price that works for you! Your choice is confidential and does not influence the uality of the camp experience for any child attending camp. We ask that you consider the following options, pray and then choose the tier that you are able to pay. Tier 1: This heavily subsidized rate does not reflect the true cost of camp, but we offer it in the hope that families will be blessed by this more affordable price. This tier is made possible by donors and other contributions to camp. o not hesitate to choose this tier if it matches your financial needs. Scholarships are still available for those who re uire further financial assistance. Tier 2: This is our partially subsidized option that makes a significant step toward covering the full cost of camp. If you choose this price you are helping offset more costs. Tier 3: This tier more closely reflects the actual cost of camp. By choosing this tier, you help sustain our ministry operation. Thank you for prayerfully considering this tiered pricing plan and helping us sustain this wonderful, Christ-centered ministry. Payment Options Full Payment, Monthly Payment Plan, and Flexible Payment Plan Full Payment may be made at the time of registration by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or e-check. $50 of the camp fee is non-refundable. 18

Monthly Payment Plan: An initial non-refundable $50.00 payment is required at the time of registration. Subsequent monthly payments will be calculated on the camp session fee. Local church or camp sponsorships must be secured and entered at the time of registration. Sponsorship funds will be applied to the non-refundable $50.00 payment and to the ending balance. Monthly payments will automatically post to your credit card or e-check account on the 15th of each month following the date of registration. Payments are calculated to be completed in full no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of the camp session. Flexible Payment Plan: An initial non-refundable $50.00 is required at the time of registration. Subsequent payments towards the cost of camp can be made at any time by logging into your UltraCamp account and paying the desired amount. Church sponsorships can be given towards a flexible payment plan if the sponsorship is equal to or less than the remaining balance. The remaining balance of camp will be applied to the credit card or e-check on file if balance is not paid in full two weeks prior to camp. Church Sponsorships are available through many local churches. Please check with your church prior to completing your registration if you are using the full payment or monthly payment options. If the church has established a charge account with the Camping Office, they will be able to give you their sponsorship code and the amount that can be applied to your total payment. Camp Need-based Sponsorships are available through Camp Wesley Woods. Parents may fill out the scholarship forms from the website: www.http://www.campwesleywoods.com/apply-for-sponsorships.html. Contact Camp Wesley Woods at (865) 448-2246 for information on this sponsorship program. In the scenario that a sponsorship is not approved, families will be considered for a full refund. Buddy Requests: can be made regarding cabin assignments. Buddy Requests are limited to one person and must be reciprocal. Buddies must be registered for the same session, and preferably within one grade or birth-year of each other. Buddies must be the same biological gender. Please make sure your buddy s name on your registration form is spelled the same as on their registration form. Refund Policy: $50 of the camp fee is non-refundable. To receive a full refund (less the $50 non-refundable fee), CANCELLATIONS must be completed by 5 pm (Eastern) on the Friday that is at least one week prior to the Opening Day of your camp session. Cancellations can be made through your online account or by calling the Camp Registration Office at (423) 929-9037. If you wish to cancel a registration and register into a different session, please call the Camp Registration Office at (423) 929-9037. Your $50.00 non-refundable fee is transferable to a different session if you phone in. This is the only way to ensure the transfer of the $50 non-refundable fee. No refunds will be made to campers who fail to show up on opening day. Should a particular session not receive an adequate number of registrations, the possibility does exist that the session may have to be cancelled. If this should occur, every effort will be made to notify the camper as soon as possible and placement into another session will be attempted. A full refund will be made if placement into another session is not possible. All appeals regarding the handling of our Refund Policy must be made in writing to: CRM Registrar, 262 Bart Green Drive, Gray, TN 37615. Donate to our Camp Sponsorship Fund: An opportunity is provided at the time of registration to make a donation to the Camp Wesley Woods Sponsorship Fund. The extra you add will help a child attend who otherwise could not come. 19
