actionchallenge in Tanzania A unique opportunity to trek far away from the tourist trail and deep into the heart of the lands. This eleven day adventure is a fantastic escape into natural Africa. We explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its volcanoes, forests, wildlife and people. Our journey takes us through savannah grasslands and along valleys with an unparalleled concentration of wildlife which gives us the opportunity of close-range animal viewing Together we trek along the volcanic rim of Empakaai, with Lake Emakat glittering in the crater beneath us. We look out for buffalo and hyenas, leopards and pink flamingos as we hike through the beautiful scenery. Our evenings are spent in camps where we eat and sleep under the African stars. We follow trails well trodden by generations of herdsmen as we make our journey, climbing the undulating paths leading us around the volcano. A highlight of the trip is our visit to the local village school which will give us an insight into exactly how the Masaii live. Our final day of group trekking takes through 20 kilometres of stunning landscape with awesome views of Oldoinyo Lengai volcano and the rift valley as we make our way towards Lake Natron.
