The unique location makes it a true oasis for sportsmen who look for top-class conditions for high-quality training as well as people longing for flawless relaxation and moments of peace in the heart of the Slovak grand mountains. CATEGORY: 3-star hotel HISTORY: The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 were the highlight of sports events held in the area of Štrbské Pleso. On this occasion, the so called Areál snov ( Area of Dreams ) and the FIS*** hotel were built, designed by professor Eugen Kramár, a leading personality of Slovak architecture, and Ján Šprlák. LOCATION: The FIS Hotel is situated in the area of Štrbské Pleso under peaks of majestic mountains - Solisko and Patria before the entrance to Mlynická dolina (valley). It is located about one kilometre from the railway and bus station of Štrbské Pleso. But if you cover the distance, you will be rewarded with immediate vicinity of a ski resort (50 m from the slopes only) and venues of all sports events that are organised here. Each refurbished family room offers a genuine mountain atmosphere, a double bed and a comfortable sofa. Some of the rooms guarantee balcony views. Number of rooms: 11 SUITES Suites with separate rooms are ideal for families or groups who want to enjoy maximum privacy while staying in the Tatras. Spacious suites feature 2 rooms with double beds and storage space. Beautiful mountain views and accommodation in the centre of the year-round resort of Štrbské Pleso guarantee absolute satisfaction of all clients. Number of rooms: 2 FIS*** ECONOMY BUNGALOWS Separate bungalows are located about 70 metres from the FIS*** hotel. They are double or triple cottages of bricks that offer tourist standard accommodation for less-demanding clients. All bungalows have extra bed possibilities. Each of them features a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a couch and a satellite TV, a bathroom with a shower and a toilet, storage room. FIS*** bungalows represent a separate tourist accommodation section that does not correspond with the 3-star hotel category. Number of bungalows: 14
