April 2017 Traveling in the Past and Present Tallahassee Region Antique Automobile Club of America Next Meeting April 11, 2017 Old Auto Museum Dinner 6:00 pm General Meeting 6:45 pm Club Officers President Ken Hart Vice President Phil Reichert TALLAHASSEE REGION, AACA MEETING MINUTES March 14, 2017 The Old Tallahassee Auto Museum There were approximately 33 members and guests present this meeting. Pledge to the Flag: Everyone Opening prayer: Ken asked that everyone pause for a moment of silence. Welcome: Ken Hart welcomed everybody and asked that visitors be introduced or introduce themselves. Joe May was as guest and is considering becoming a member; Steve and Lauchlin Waldoch described themselves as having just wandered in off the streets. 50/50 Drawing: Carolyn Grimes graciously agreed to sell 50/50 tickets. Program: The program came at the end of the meeting. Phil Reichert passed out sheets of paper for teams of two to document their answers to 20 trivia questions he had researched and prepared. The winners were Bob Brown and Bob Newman. Congratulations Bob and Bob!! Announcements & Reports: Ken Hart asked for reports on events. Don Pumphrey reported that he and Pam went to the Heart Ball in their 55 Pontiac. A few other cars were there also. The event was nice and well attended. Craig Brown gave a report on the Marianna Show. There were about 50-60 cars and was a good event. The highlight for Craig was the cake auction; the cakes were amazing. He suggested that members go as a club cruise next year. It is the first weekend in March. He also gave an update on the National TRAACA Show in Ocala; he had never been to a national show before. He took lots of pictures and is willing to do a presentation on it in the future. The quality of cars was unbelievable. It was held at the College of Central Florida campus. It was an amazing experience. It was then announced that John Schanbacher, Jack Hanbury, and Bill O Rourke were judges at the national show. Bill talked a little about judging; the criteria are authenticity and condition. Ken announced that he needs someone to volunteer to order the food each month and thanked Carolyn Grimes for agreeing to help set up a Facebook page for the Club. Thank you Carolyn! Ken also discussed having flyers and business cards available to members to promote the Club. After discussion Vic Hajos agreed to produce such cards and print 500 of them for members. Ken also needs a volunteer to take over the handling the sale of Club shirts, hats, and jackets and to place additional orders when needed. Secretary Marianne Trussell Treasurer Norm Madsen Newsletter Editor Dennis Tpber Web Master Craig Brown Executive Board Bill O'Rourke Jack Hanbury Victor (Vic) Hajos John Schanbacher

Committee Reports: Sunshine: Pam Pumphrey advised that three cards had been passed around for John Wells (get well); Pat Baxter (her father died); and Lori Cook (whose husband Randy died recently). Pam encouraged members to let her know of members who would be pleased to receive a card. New members are always welcome to join this committee and all other committees. Belle McCollum and Glenda Schanbacher are backups to Pam. Treasurer's Report: Norm Madsen was not present; Ken Hart presented the report; details are available from Norm. Tour Committee: Bill O Rourke gave the report for Norm Madsen. He reminded everyone of the tour to Monticello for the Tour of Homes on Saturday, March 18. Members will meet at the Vineyards Publix at 8:45 for a 9:15 departure. Ken Hart announced that other notices of tours will be in the newsletter, but that there are no other upcoming Club tours at this time. Show Committee: Craig McCollum gave a short briefing on the Watermelon Festival on the 3 rd Saturday in June. He is looking for donations of old trophies and prizes. Details to follow as they are developed. Pam Pumphrey discussed the Honor Flight Show and explained that the Mustang Club will be holding its All American Car Show at the Department of Transportation parking lot on October 7; proceeds will be donated to Honor Flight. Pam thus thought it would be better not to have another car show the following month and therefore recommends the Club do its show in the spring of 2018. Pam then made a motion to hold the Club s car show to benefit Honor Flight in the spring of 2018 and that a committee be formed; Jack Hanbury seconded the motion. The motion passed upon unanimous vote. Neal Davis made a motion and upon amendment it was seconded by Bob Brown; the motion was to donate $500 to Honor Flight in the memory of Bobby Hollingsworth. The amended motion passed upon unanimous vote.

New Business: John Schanbacher will be placing an order soon for name tags; they are no cost to new members. Let him know if you need a name tag; there is a charge for replacement tags. Jack Hanbury gave an update on the TCC scholarship; he has a meeting on March 23 to talk to TCC about it and promote the Club. He hopes to get them on the Club s program in April.
