From the airport you can take the bus, the train (RENFE or ) or a taxi to get to downtown Barcelona. By bus The easiest way to get to downtown Barcelona is by bus (Aerobus). There are stops outside the airport terminals T1 and T2 and the final destination is Plaça Catalunya, located at downtown Barcelona (duration of the trip, 30 minutes). Aerobus is leaving every 5 minutes, every day of the year. You can buy your ticket from the staff at the bus stops (cash only payments), at the automatic sales machines (payment by credit card) or by paying the bus driver (cash only payments). Encashment change up to 20. The price of a single ticket is 5.90 (Valid for one person and his/her luggage and valid up to one hour after purchasing) or return ticket for 10.20 (Valid for person and his/her luggage. By Train From the RENFE train station inside the airport, terminal T2, take Line R2, this is the one that comes to and from the airport. Trains depart every 30 minutes at.00 and.30 hours. It runs from the Airport to the Estació de França Station. However, it does not arrive to the Plaça de Catalunya station. You can either: Get off at the Passeig de Gràcia Station (which is 4-5 blocks away from Plaça de Catalunya); or Transfer at the Sants Estació Station to another RENFE train line (R1 and R4) to get to the Plaça de Catalunya station, or to the metro network (http://www.tmb.net/en_us/home.jsp). The metro DOES NOT RUN to and from the airport. You can check the timetable in http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/cercanias/barcelona/index.html By Taxi It is the most expensive way to get to Barcelona. If you take a taxi, it will cost you around 25-40 euros, depending on your final destination in Barcelona. You should also know the following: The duration of the journey is around 20-25 minutes, of course, this strictly depends on traffic. There is an extra charge for each suitcase that is put in the trunk (0.90 /per each). GETTING TO UAB FROM THE AIRPORT By Taxi Tell the driver that you want to go to Universitàt Autònoma de Barcelona. Ask the driver to take the AP-2 and then AP-7 direction Girona França and take the Universitàt Autònoma Exit 5

If you come from Barcelona You should take the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya ( or ) in Plaça Catalunya. The train lines to go to UAB campus are S2 (direction Sabadell) or S55 (direction Universitat Autònoma). Below you ll find the map of Plaça Catalunya and the location of the entrances to the FGC station. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) Take the line (direction Sabadell) or (direction Universitat Autònoma), both of them will take you to the UAB Campus (2 zone ticket). Get off at the Bellaterra station (to go to Vila Universitaria and Hotel Campus) or Universitat Autònoma station (to go to the Summer School venue, Sala d Actes Facultat de Química). Hotel Vila and Vila Universitària are located approximately around 10 minutes from Bellaterra station. Below you ll find the map with the way signaled as a blue line. 6
Ticket Prices To go to the UAB Campus you should buy a 2-zone ticket (2.15 ). You also have the possibility to buy a ticket with 10 trips (20.30 ). This T-10 ticket can be used by more than one person, if travelling together. When you buy a single ticket in FGC (or T-10 ticket), the ticket is an integrated ticket, which allows you to use in other kinds of transport in the city of Barcelona (RENFE, FGC, metro, bus, tram). GETTING TO SCIENCES AND BIOSCIENCES FACULTY (SALA D ACTES, LOCATION OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL VENUE) From FGC train station Universitat Autònoma and from Hotel Vila UAB or Vila Universitària Below you can find 2 maps with the directions from the train station FGC (5 min walking) and from Vila (15 min walking). In both maps, the blue line represents the way to Sciences and Biosciences Faculty. From the Vila, there is also an option of going by bus (bus station is signed in the map with a yellow star). There, you can take Line 3 and go out in Sciences & Biosciences. The service is free for users of the campus and it s between 7:45 a.m. until 22.30h. The timetables are shown below.
