Salisbury Cruise Club 12-Day Canada & New England Cruise - Norwegian Gem October 7-20, 2018 Exclusive Group Excursions As an alternative to the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) tours, the Salisbury Cruise Club has made arrangements for several special group excursions in each port. We believe that these excursions offer much the same, if not more than similar tours offered through NCL, at a substantial discount and with the people you know. If you are interested in any of the Salisbury Cruise Club excursions, please send in your reservations as soon as possible because space is limited on some of these excursions and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. For all of these excursions, please return the reservation form and check made out to the Salisbury Cruise Club in the enclosed self-addressed envelope no later than June 15, 2018 so I can confirm our reservations with the tour providers. Tickets and Instructions - Tickets for each of the tours that you have registered for will be provided to you in mid-september 2018 along with your cruise documents and other information about our cruise. In addition, at that time you will receive detailed instructions on when and where to meet our tour buses at the pier in each port of call. You will also receive a few tips on what to expect and how to prepare for each excursion. Any last minute changes and/or reminders about our tours for the next day will typically be provided each night at dinner. Responsibility and Liability - These group excursions have been arranged by the Salisbury Cruise Club as a convenience to our group members. These excursions are provided by independent tour operators and the Salisbury Cruise Club and its officers and agents will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, injury, costs or delays resulting from, or in conjunction with, your use of these services. By registering for these excursions, you assume such responsibility and liability in conjunction with your participation in these tours and agree that neither the Salisbury Cruise Club nor its officers or agents are liable for any loss, damages, injuries, costs or delays. Excursions are non-refundable. Insurance - Because we have booked these group excursions with independent tour operators, they must be paid in advance. Excursions are therefore non-refundable. If you have already purchased the Comprehensive Trip Protection Policy, we recommend that you consider purchasing an add-on policy, subject to the same terms and conditions for cancellation, to cover the cost of your excursions should you need to cancel. The add-on policy costs $30 per person and can be added to your total excursion payment. Remember, all tours will be filled on a first registered and paid basis. So please register early to be sure that you get the tours that you want. Deadline for registration is June 15, 2018.

La Baie (Saguenay River), Quebec Bec-Scie Outdoors Center - with Optional Hiking Tour 2 - La Baie (Saguenay River), Quebec - Bec-Scie Outdoors Center Date - Wednesday, October 10, 2018 Tour Time - 9:00 am to return at 11 am, 12 or 1 pm (2 to 4 hours) Tour Cost = $15 per person - (No tours yet offered by NCL) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (docked) This area of Quebec is known for its beautiful scenery and this tour will take you to one of the most impressive sites in the area at Centre plein air Bec-Scie (the Bec-Scie Outdoors Center) where we will view the incredible Bec-Scie River Gorge. We have lined up four school buses to transport us the short 6 miles from the port to the Bec-Scie Outdoors Center where we will take a short walk to view the canyon and the picturesque waterfalls. There are exceptionally well maintained hiking trails to the canyon and waterfalls, but views are also available a short walk from where our buses will drop us off. For those who prefer a more immersive experience, this expansive outdoor center is comprised of miles and miles of hiking trails (nearly 30 miles in all) centered around the powerful waterfalls. Throughout the hike there are wooden steps and platforms that overlook the canyon and waterfalls. According to reviews, the falls are gorgeous and there are tons of great places to stop and check out the area. There is great signage and a helpful map to assist you with navigation. There is also a small welcome center which provides more information about the park. For those who prefer a shorter visit with more time to explore La Baie or relax on the ship, we have arranged for our buses to return to the ship at varying times. The first bus will return at 11:00 am, while the remaining buses will return at 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm depending upon how much time the group wishes to spend hiking and exploring. Please note that we will also provide some bug spray for those who prefer a more extensive hiking experience.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Green Gables Heritage House and PEI Preserve Company Tour 3 - Charlottetown, PEI - Green Gables Heritage House & PEI Preserve Company Date - Friday, October 12, 2018 Tour Time - 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (4 hours) Tour Cost = $49 per person - (compare to NCL at $85 for similar 3.5 hr tour) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (docked) Our tour buses and guides will meet us at the pier shortly after our ship arrives in port to take us on a scenic tour of Charlottetown and the surrounding rolling farmlands and windswept coastline on our way to Cavendish (approximate 45-minute drive), home of the Green Gables Heritage Place. Green Gables Shore is a region on Prince Edward Island s north coast that s known for its stunning natural beauty rolling hills, sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs. It s also the place that inspired Lucy Maude Montgomery s classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables, the tale of a spunky red haired orphan that was an instant hit. The homestead immortalized in the book is exceptionally beautiful and fans will get a kick out of exploring the ground they have read so much about. Each year, hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world visit this farmhouse, plus the Haunted Wood and Balsam Hollow Trail, as described in the book. We will have time to explore the stunning park and the red sandstone cliffs, set against white capped waves which will make for an incredible photo opportunity. On our return to Charlottetown, we will stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to browse the selection of jams, marmalades and other items made with locally grown fruit. Arriving back at the ship by 12:30 pm, you can enjoy lunch onboard or in town, and still have plenty of time for shopping and exploring Charlottetown before boarding the ship at 4:00 pm for departure.

Sydney, Nova Scotia Baddeck and Alexander Graham Bell Museum Tour 4 - Sydney, Nova Scotia - Baddeck and Bell Museum Date - Saturday, October 13, 2018 Tour Time - 8:30 am to 1:00 pm (4.5 hours) Tour Cost = $49 per person (Compare to NCL at $79 for 3.5 hour tour) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (docked) Join us for a morning tour of some of the most scenic sites in Nova Scotia as we make our way to the picturesque village of Baddeck, home of the Alexander Graham Bell Museum which is situated on 24 acres of land overlooking Baddeck Bay on the Bras d'or Lakes. Here we will explore the amazing worlds of a lifetime that has touched all of us. The telephone was only the beginning of Alexander Graham Bell s life-long pursuit of knowledge and invention. We will discover how air and water captured Dr. Bell s imagination and how ideas led him to transmit sound on light and create a treadle powered sound recording device, man-carrying kites, airplanes and a record setting-hydrofoil boat. We will find out how he bridged the world between sound and silence, and perhaps participate in an experiment, a kite-making and kite-flying program, enjoy hands-on activities and take in a presentation in Mr. Bell Theatre. It is recommended that we spend a minimum of two hours in this accessible facility where interactive displays, films, artifacts, models and a beautiful historic photo collection provide an entertaining and informative experience for everyone. And be sure to have a look at the beautiful grounds overlooking the Bras d Or Lakes where Alexander Graham Bell and his associates made history. On our drive to Baddeck, we will stop at St. Anne s look off for a photo stop and on our return we will stop on Kelly s Mountain to enjoy the spectacular view and take a few photos as well. And of course throughout our tour we will be treated to the beautiful countryside of Nova Scotia and the Sydney area, home of the famous Cabot Trail.

Halifax, Nova Scotia All-Day Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus with Maritime Museum Tour 5 - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus with Maritime Museum Date - Sunday, October 14, 2018 Tour Time - Continuous Tours - All Day - (30 and 60-minute routes) Tour Cost = $45 per person - (compare to NCL at $55 for Bus, plus Maritime Museum Regular Admission at $9.55) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (docked) There is so much to see and do in Halifax, that we thought it would be best to arrange a discounted ticket on the hop-on hop-off bus for our group. And since one of the highlights of Halifax is the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which I understand has a fascinating exhibit on the Titanic, we have included admission to the Maritime Museum along with your hop-on hop-off bus pass. The unique Double Decker buses are proudly dressed in pink in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (although you can take the white Gray Line double-deckers too) to which $1 of your ticket price is contributed. The Hop-On Hop-Off Tour stops at 17 locations throughout the city, which feature some of the top attractions. Enjoy shopping and fine dining as you hop off and on the Double Decker with your all-day ticket, which provides the flexibility to plan your own schedule and to discover some of the city s highlights. Enjoy two guided routes of panoramic touring. The All Around the Town Orange Route consists of a 60-minute round trip covering 11 miles, with stops at: Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrow's; Halifax Public Gardens/Spring Garden Road Shopping Area; Museum of Natural History; Halifax Citadel National Historic Site; Historic North End/Shops; Hydrostone Shopping District; Province House/Art Gallery/City Centre; Cornwallis Park/Market/ Pharmacy; Point PleasantPark/Beach/Walking Trails; and Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. The Waterfront Green Route is a 30 minute round trip that covers three miles in the historic waterfront district with stops at: Bishop's Landing/Alexander Keith's Brewery; Maritime Museum/Waterfront Boardwalk; Murphy's Company Store/Queen's Landing; Casino Nova Scotia; St. Paul's Anglican Church/Grand Parade; Old Burying Grounds (where many who perished on the Titanic are buried)/st. Mary's Basilica/Discovery Centre; and South End City. Please note: Other than the Maritime Museum, admissions for city attractions are not included and are at guests discretion. The buses run every 15-30 minutes throughout the day, depending on traffic. Guests are requested to present their ticket/pass every time they wish to re-board the bus.

Saint John, Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick All-Day Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus with Skywalk Tour 6- Saint John, New Brunswick - Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus with Skywalk Date - Monday, October 15, 2018 Tour Time - Continuous Tours - All Day Tour Cost = $49 per person - (compare to NCL at $69 for Bus Only, plus Skywalk - Regular Admission at $15) Ship In Port - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (docked) Similar to our tour of Halifax, we decided that the best way to see Saint John, Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick is to arrange a discounted ticket on the hop-on hop-off bus for our group. And since one of the highlights of Saint John is the Bay of Fundy, where you can witness the 18-foot difference between low tide (5.6 feet at 11:06 am on October 15) and high tide (23.8 feet at 5:15 pm), we have also included a ticket to Skywalk which offers the best views of the Reversing Falls Rapids where you can witness the tidal change, along with your hop-on hop-off bus pass. The hop-on hop-off bus will allow you to board the authentic London double-decker and choose your own experience to explore Saint John. Your all-day pass gives you access to a 14 stop fully-guided loop, and all the best Saint John has to offer. The All About Town Loop links you to many popular attractions and historic city landmarks including historic Uptown Saint John and the City Market where tasty treats and eye-catching crafts await you, and The New Brunswick Museum where the city s rich heritage comes to life. With flexibility, choice and freedom this tour allows you to plan your time in Saint John shopping, sightseeing or just walking this harbor city at your own pace by hopping on and off. And the loop also takes you to Reversing Falls Rapids. Here, the waters of the mighty Saint John River collide with the Bay of Fundy resulting in a breathtaking sight, which you will have the opportunity view from the spectacular Skywalk platform over the river. The All About Town route includes the following stops: Marco Polo Cruise Terminal; Barbour s General Store Visitor Centre; Historic Saint John City Market (one of our favorites stops in 2009); Brunswick Square; Imperial Theatre; Jewish Historical Museum; Cathedral of Immaculate Conception; Lily Lake Pavilion; Fisher Lakes Hiking Trails; Fort Howe Lookout; Fallsview Park Reversing Rapids; Skywalk Saint John Visitor Center; Wolastoq Park; Carleton Martello Tower; National Historic Site of Canada; and New Brunswick Museum City Centre. Note: Other than for Skywalk, admission fees are not included in the price of this tour and are at your discretion. Double-deckers depart the pier and at all stops approximately every 15 to 30 minutes all day long. A dollar of the proceeds from this tour will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Collapsible wheelchairs can be stored, but only one is allowed per double-decker, due to safety requirements. Participants must still be able to negotiate the large steps in and out of the vehicle, as there is no wheelchair lift available.

Portland, Maine The Maine Brew Bus - Micro-Brewery Tour and Tasting Tour 7 - Portland, Maine - The Maine Brew Bus Date - Tuesday, October 16, 2018 Tour Time - 10:00 am to 1:30 pm (3.5 hours) Tour Cost = $79 per person - (No comparable tour offered by NCL) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (docked) Welcome to The Maine Brew Bus. Maine's Original Brew Bus proudly offering Brewery Tours in Portland, Maine and beyond! Join us for a private tour on bright green school buses that provide a behind-the-scenes look at Maine s craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, and more. Whether you're an amateur or a connoisseur, you'll want to join us on The Maine Brew Bus for a unique experience discovering Maine's booming craft alcohol scene. On this tour, you will be introduced to your new favorite beer plus the friendly faces responsible for its production. More than just a designated driver, the Maine Brew Bus staff are expert tour guides on an all-inclusive adventure. Tours are led by knowledgeable guides in addition to a dedicated non-drinking driver to ensure the best possible experience for participating guests as well as for the businesses with which they partner. Our tour will feature stops at Maine producers, including breweries, distilleries and/or wineries, showcasing the best the local scene has to offer. Our tour will also feature a local snack, trivia, behind-the-scenes experiences, and of course delicious beer and beverages all included! New England s Original Brew Bus was established in Portland, Maine in 2012, and since then has welcomed over 15,000 guests aboard to explore their local alcohol producers. In 2013 the Maine Brew Bus became the #1 TripAdvisor Tour and Activity in Portland. Depending upon the level of interest in this tour, we are planning to book all 4 of their buses. Each bus can accommodate up to 14 passengers, therefore our maximum capacity is 56. We will do our best to keep groups together. Furthermore, we can customize the itinerary on each bus to visit the establishments most desired by each group. For example, for the craft beer enthusiasts, we can visit 3 local craft breweries. For those who may also like wine, we can include a winery along with a couple of breweries. And for those who prefer to try all types of craft alcohol, we can stop at one brewery, one winery and one distillery. Once I know who is joining us, I will be in touch so that we can plan the ideal experience for each bus.

Tour 8 - Bar Harbor, Maine - Acadia National Park Bar Harbor, Maine Acadia National Park Date - Wednesday, October 17, 2018 Tour Time - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (4 hours) Tour Cost = $39 per person - (compare to NCL at $65 for 2.25 hr tour) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (anchored - tender service) Explore the beauty of Acadia National Park, one of the most visited parks in the United States, on this 4-hour tour. We will board our deluxe motorcoach and pass through the quaint town of Bar Harbor to view some of the charming Victorian mansions built by America s rich and famous at the turn of the century. We will then enjoy a short ride to Acadia National Park where our first stop will be the Visitor s Center for orientation and a 15-minute film of introduction to the park narrated by Jack Perkins, the famous reporter and anchorman who has been dubbed America s Most Literate Correspondent by the Associated Press. After our orientation, we will proceed along the 27-mile Park Loop Road which features some of the most spectacular scenery in the northeast United States, including the rocky coastline, rolling mountains and lush forest areas of the park. Our next stop will be Thunder Hole, where the ocean swells converge against the granite cliffs to create a thunderous roar. Continuing past Otter Cliffs (the 110-foot high cliff which is one of the highest Atlantic coastal headlands north of Rio de Janeiro and offers spectacular views of the rocky coastline) and the Jordan Pond House (a glacially carved lake nestled between mountains), we will make our way to the 1,530-foot summit of Cadillac Mountain (weather permitting), the highest point on North America s Eastern Seaboard. From the summit we will enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire area and see how glaciers carved through the granite cliffs to form a beautiful landscape of lush forest, lakes and valleys. Our guide will be with us every step of the way to explain the interesting natural and cultural history of this area throughout our tour. Please note that walking is at your discretion. Most surfaces are paved but there are some uneven, slippery when wet areas and some steps. The stop at Cadillac Mountain will not be made in adverse or foggy weather conditions, in which case we will visit an alternative location. Except for those who are planning to join us for the delicious Downeast Lobster Bake (see optional tour 8a), the rest of the group is scheduled to arrive back in Bar Harbor by 1:00 pm in order to allow plenty of time to stroll through the village and visit the many interesting shops, enjoy the beautiful scenery or to have lunch in one of the many restaurants in town before taking the tender back to the ship by 4:00 pm prior to our 5:00 pm departure. Please be advised that the tender service takes about 30 minutes each way, so it won t be as convenient to come and go from the ship as it will be when we are docked. As a result, you may want to plan to have lunch in Bar Harbor and have a walk around before going back to the ship.

Bar Harbor, Maine Optional Downeast Lobster Bake - (Add-On) Tour 8a - Bar Harbor, Maine - Downeast Lobster Bake -Available as an Add-On to the morning tour Date - Wednesday, October 17, 2018 Tour Time - 1:00 to 3:00 pm (2 hours) Tour Cost = $33 per person - (Salisbury Cruise Club Combo price $72 for 6-hour tour, compare to NCL at $99 for 3.5 hour tour) Ship In Port - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (anchored - tender service) A trip to New England just would not be complete without enjoying lobster at least once during our cruise. So following our tour of Acadia National Park we have arranged this optional lobster lunch provided by Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes. This family-run business has been preparing traditional downeast lobster bakes with an emphasis on quality food and service for over 30 years. They are not a restaurant where our "lobster bake" would be boiled in separate pots in the kitchen while cooks prepare a variety of other meals. They expertly prepare the freshest ingredients in their large stainless steel steamers. Be there with your appetite and camera when the covers are lifted to reveal a colorful blend of lobsters, mussels, corn on the cob and red potatoes amidst a cloud of steam. The full menu includes: 1 1/4 pound MAINE LOBSTER (and for those who do not wish to have Lobster, a grilled Steak or baked Haddock can be offered as a substitute, with advanced notice), Native Mussels (Lots of them!), Corn on the Cob, Potato, Cole Slaw, Bread, Homemade Blueberry Cake, Coffee, Tea, or Ice Tea. In addition, beer, wine and mixed drinks are also available on a cash basis. As soon as our bus pulls into the parking lot, one of their friendly employees will get on and welcome the group. Upon entering the building, their steamer room is fully visible through windows and glass doors, which gives us a front-row seat to their distinctive cooking method. When our lobsters are ready, they will serve us straight from the steamers, so we can be assured we are getting our food the hottest, freshest way possible. Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes delivers an authentic feeling for Maine, and an appreciation for their unique culture. Join us to experience a real Maine lobster bake!

Among other sites, we ll visit the Old North Church & the Paul Revere House. Following our tour of the Freedom Trail we will continue by motorcoach past the USS Constitution. Along the way, we will pass the Old State House, Kings Chapel, Beacon Hill and the Public Gardens among other historic Boston landmarks. We will then go across the river to Cambridge, home of some of the world's finest institutions of higher education. The following is a list of the sites we are planning to include on our tour: Charlestown Navy Yard - home of the USS Constitution; Bunker Hill Monument; Old North Church; The North End (Little Italy); Paul Revere's house; Faneuil Hall; Boston Massacre site; The Old State House; TD Garden - home to the Bruins & Celtics; Beacon Hill/Louisburg Square & picturesque Acorn Street; TV's "Cheers Bar"; Boston Common; Public Garden; Back Bay; Boston Marathon Finish Line; Copley Square; Newbury Street; China Town; Theater District; Fenway Park - home to the Red Sox; Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); Harvard; Longfellow's house; and Harvard Square.
