PATRICK MAURICE LANNES Chef Director Grosvenor House & Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa Chef Patrick Lanes was bid a fond farewell by the executive committee of the Guild at the Radisson Blu hotel last week, hosted by Guild President Uwe Micheel. Chef Patrick has been a staunch member of the guild in the 8 plus years he has been in Dubai and has supported the guild in all its endeavours. Patrick will be missed by all chefs of the guild, and his hotels, as he was the one to make us laugh and appreciate life. Chef Patrick told the gathering that when he walked into his first kitchen more than 40 years ago his master chef told him, you young people are lucky you will soon take 2 days off every week!! Until his last day in the kitchen Patrick never had two days off but in his typical humorous style added that now is the time he will take 7 days off every week! We wish Patrick and his lovely wife Renee a happy retirement together and we shall all have fond memories of Chef Patrick in the Guild. Au-revoir from all your friends in the Guild
